Does anyone know or have a link to determine the amount of miles you walk in a park?

The good news is that the calories taken in, versus the calories burned, seem to off set each other. :)
I weigh myself before and after each trip and it seems that even though I eat a lot of crap when I'm on my Disney vacations ie Dole Whip floats, hamburgers, fries, chicken nuggets etc, I don't seem to gain any weight. That said, I don't LOSE any weight either.:lol:

That said, I suppose walking around the Disney Parks could be a great way to lose weight provided you watched what you ate, but that just doesn't seem like much fun to me.:animwink:

It's actually not great exercise at all.

A leisurely stroll spread out over the course of 6-8 hours that never gets your heart rate above resting isn't doing much for you.

Then consider a single Disney snack can have close to a thousand calories, and you'll realize how silly the myth of "I'll just walk it off" really is.

Then why do I loose weight in WDW - well maybe it might be the fact I don't over eat but still, I always come back fitter and healthier!!

You burn about 70 calories for every mile walked.

We wore a pedometer once and it came in at about 13 miles. We were floored! But then again, we crisscross the park often, jumping from one section to another as we want and as lines dictate. I imagine most people do a whole land before moving on to the next but that's not how we do it.

I wear one every day in the parks and it works out to be between 7 to 10 miles a day. When you consider we're in the parks 12 days, thats a lot of steps!!!

A word of wisdom if go the pedometer route. Remember to turn it off or disable it on EVERY ride. We used one once and either we walked 1,453 miles that day or I forgot to turn it off when we went on Space Mountain.
