Does a CM really need to comment?

I didn't even bother looking at the nametag. I was more interested in making sure my kids were having fun and then getting us to lunch on time. So you can get some idea of just how ridiculous the CM was being, here's a pic of my kids from yesterday. Now, just picture a pair of bright pink shoes on my daughter's feet with that outfit:

There is nothing wrong with that outfit even with pink shoes. Shows she has her own style. :) By the way, your daughter is a beautiful little girl.

Very cute kids, and kudos to her for creating her own style!

What sounds better?

"Oh WOW! I can see you are a princess in the making! You know, I believe that many of the princesses wore a grey dress just like this, while in training to become princesses, before they received their royal titles. I think the next step is wearing pink shoes... OH WAIT... you are already there! Look at those pink shoes! WOW!" ;)

OR...

"Wow, you have no style. Who do you think you are walking around here like that, mismatched? You need fashion help."

Your kids are precious! I agree with the others that it's great you let your daughter have her own style. That cm was way out of line.

I work with kids everyday (not at Disney). Many of them love to be able to pick out their own clothes. I've seen some crazy combo's. It's much better to laugh inside and simply say: Your orange pants, pink tutu, mixed matched socks, with sandels look divine with your aqua shirt and the red cowboy hat tops it off just nice. And please tell me where you got your magic wand. I love it and would love to get one for myself.

Perfect response!

I think she's absolutely adorable! And I think the only proper pair of shoes with that outfit would definitely be a pair of pink shoes (or possibly green)! I still say ignore the comment. I went out on Friday and wore jeans, a green t-shirt, a khaki blazer, and pink shoes (and I looked way cute). The CM obviously had no fashion sense, and your daughter has great fashion sense. She's a Carrie Bradshaw in the making. Just get ready for her extremely high cost shoe addiction to begin!

Thank you again everyone for your kind words and fun comments about what I have to look forward to with my daughter.

Beth, that outfit does sound rather cute. :)

Number 6, your kids are so cute! I also think it's great that your daughter picks out her own clothes. I think the pink shoes must have made the outfit perfect and that cm was way out of line. I would have probably complimented her outfit and told her how cute it was. Some people (like the MGM cm) need to learn when to keep their mouths shut.

As Thumper would say, "If you can't say nothing nice, don't say anything at all." :zipit:

Oh boy, has that CM got some issues! And probably doesn't have any children of her own either! Sunday Morning we were running late for church and I let my 4 yr old dress herself, well, she came out wearing her Cinderella dress and her bug mud boots (little red rubber boots that look like little bugs with antanae and all!). I didn't have the time or the energy to pick a battle with her so we just went as is! If she wasn't half naked and not wearing offensive wording, what does it matter? Sometimes we must pick our battles carefully and you did best by just walking away!
Besides she looks adorable in the outfit.
