Do you think we will ever see another monorail resort?

In the unlikely event Disney decided that Monorail was the future; linking Epcot to the Studios via the Beach Club and Boardwalk make sense as a way to replace buses. That isn"t going to happen though.

The biggest issue with adding another station around the 7 seas lagoon is how much longer it would add to journey times. The circuit already takes forever.

Back in the 90's Disney released the following info announcing Disney's Mediterranean Resort:
Long visualized as a new jewel in the crown of resorts surrounding Seven Seas Lagoon, Disneys Mediterranean Resort will occupy a prime location on the monorail line between Disneys Contemporary Resort and the Transportation and Ticket Center. It's 1,000 deluxe rooms and suites will capture the romance of the sunny resorts of the Greek Islands. It will also provide a luxurious new convention facility with more than 65,000 square feet of meeting space and outstanding recreational facilities including a marina. Hotel room rates will be comparable to the other hotels serviced by the monorail transportation system. No opening date yet announced.

and probably never will.

I assume( and yes I do know what happens when you assume) that the Mediterranean resort was the construction done in that area when they found it to be too "swampy"?

I hope not - there are already too many stops as it is!

I would like to see a covered PeopleMover style transit from Epcot Resort area to HS, or at least make that walkway "more Disney," with gardens, flowers, and thematic elements.

While true, it does not completely rule out the possibility as "unsuitable for building" really translates into "more expensive to build on".

Exactly this. There is no such thing as unbuildable land. If the demand and need is there they can build anywhere, it's just a matter of making the extra cost work.

Nope. If you notice the resorts are coincided with the side of the park that makes sense. Contemporary is by tomorrow land, poly by adventure and, etc. Leaving just fantasyland really as a land with no coinciding resort. But that's behind the park and not doable. I do think sometime in the next 5-10yrs their will be atleast 1 resort added. No clue the theme and all, but I just think they'll do one, but not on the monorail.

Last year, Disney World actually had good occupancy numbers which started of at 89% for the 1st quarter. With all the new expansions coming to Disney World which should increase attendance, It makes me wonder if in the next 10 years or so we will see an announcement of a new resort. I know this is a long shot especially with Disney trying to save money everywhere possible but it's sure fun to dream about what kind of resort could go into the large space between Poly and CR.
What theme would you like to see? Maybe the Asia resort which was originally planned to go in between Poly and GF?

In fact, while you are on the MK railroad you are immersed in the theme. But in going around Tomorrowland, the view purposely opens up revealing the Contemporary as it matches the Tomorrowland theme.
