Still lacks the charm of the original logo. And then in 2015 this was the logo that was used on a lot of merchandise:
It uses the same font as Disneyland/Magic Kingdom.

That was my thought. Still cool to see it being used again.Nostalgia sells. It's just marketing.
I had an interesting conversation with a customer service supervisor not long ago about Epcot -- they referred to the park as "Disney's 80s park" and said they hope to 'embrace nostalgia' as part of its DNA.I'm at Epcot now and there's a lot of new merchandise with the old EPCOT Center lettering and logo. They've actually had it out for a few weeks now. Not that it means anything, but hopefully with all of the changes coming they'll switch back to it.
What about MGM/Hollywood studios? Isn't that technically Disney's 80s park as well as Epcot? (Okay it's 1989 but still.)I had an interesting conversation with a customer service supervisor not long ago about Epcot -- they referred to the park as "Disney's 80s park" and said they hope to 'embrace nostalgia' as part of its DNA.

Sorry for double posting, but a lot of 2017 merchandise is also using the old logo.

I like all of those. Glad to see the old logo back!

Absolutely. I love merch with the old logo on it. It's my childhood. It is. I like the logo as well. Most people seem to "recognize" it. Maybe for the 50th they can roll it out completely and bring it back. But I guess in a way it is back because they use it on merchandise, but often times, one doesn't talk to the other, so that's why I said it's just about marketing and selling a product. Merchandise and marketing seems to realize that nostalgia sells, and it does.
Disneyland resort also went to a corperate logo for awhile just like WDW starting in 2001 until their 50th anniversary, (Though the original logo was still used for Disneyland Park, ala Tokyo Disneyland.) So i won't be suprised if they do it with Walt Disney World too.It is. I like the logo as well. Most people seem to "recognize" it.
