I think I'll have to agree with you here. I've still been hearing people talk about how cheap Disney is being, even currently. All I can see is them spending money left and right to improve the parks.

Indeed, I think 2003 - 2008 will be another golden era of groundbreaking Disney attractions! Much like 1989 - 1994 was.

Pop Century, Soarin, AK will get something more than just EVEREST, judging from the massive clearing site...I'm thinking a new animal exhibit or something like that. Anything else? Probably some new parades in 2005, I would imagine...and the Indiana Jones Adventure rumor, what ever comes of that (I remain hopeful)...oh, and the Stitch makeover for Alien Encounter...plus, I think from what we have seen from Finding Nemo, we can expect either a new parade, show, or ride around it opening up...somewhere. Disney wouldn't pass this up...it's been awhile since Disney(well, Pixar, but you know what I mean) has made a movie that ALL of the critics have raved about.

I haven't been on here lately b/c of dial up modems that SUCK, but rather than search this forum, will someone please tell me what Soarin' is and also what changes are being made to HISTA's preshow and the GMR?

(You aren't here for a month and all chaos breaks loose...)
:D

1. Mission: Space: Can't really be det. yet...
2. Mickey's PhilharMagic: I am MOST excited about this one! :D
3. New Fireworks in the MK: Sure! This should be fun.
4. Expedition Everest: Haha...better than DinoRama! It looks like a much-needed addition to A.K.
5. Diamond Horseshoe: Stills skeptical.
6. HISTA - preshow changes: No idea. We'll have to see.
7. Great Movie Ride Changes: From what I have heard, these are excellent modifications!
8. New Finding Nemo Float: Why not?
9. Time Racers is a big rumor... Replacing Spaceship Earth?
BIG
no. These are the kinds of things "Disney" does that upset me...majorly...and just throws everything else out of sight.

A little off the topic but when is GMR supposed to open back up? Oh and I can't wait for all these things to be complete! Espcially Mission:Space! Only a few more months then I have to figure out how to get down there! lol

Soarin' refers to a clone of Soarin' Over California at Disney's California Adventure (it would have a different movie, same ride system). It's the best ride at Disney's California Adventure--one of the true successes for the park.

Never fear.....

It's always MUCH easier for people to appreciate things once they SEE and EXPERIENCE them.

Not quite as fun to merely READ about a potential new attraction, especially when we have all been disappointed many times before.

Like Doubting Thomases.....they will appreciate and become BELIEVERS once they have seen!!!

I remember someone posting that the refurb is ahead of schedule and there is a chance it might open around the middle of June. I can't remember the possible date. Sorry.

As far as what we know, everything is looking pretty good for the next few years. Heck, just this year! I've often heard from people who know a lot more about business than I do, that it does tend to go in cycles. Maybe Disney has been through a down cycle, whether it be due to finances or management, or maybe it's due to lack of exciting new attractions to draw new guests as well as old fans, or maybe just the economy taking a nose dive for a few years...whatever the reason(s), maybe Disney's pendulum is starting to swing back the other way. Which is a good thing for us!

The thing I'd really like to see is for the powers that be quit messing with the Magic Kingdom's hours. You used to be able to finish your day at the MK at 12:00 PM everyday during the summer season, and the park was crowded the whole time. The first time we visited the world back in 1980, the park was open from 8:00 AM until 1:00 AM everyday.

Either my mind is not working today, or it's an attraction that I'm not fond of, but can someone please tell me what HISTA is?

Thanks,
Christina

It hasn't been that way in QUITE a few years...I wouldn't hold my breath on seeing those hours again.

Well, it will be, in a sense--if you consider Anandapur a land, this area will be a whole new village--still in Asia, but a new town with new theming--so one could call it a new land. It makes sense, though: with as big as Asia is, they could easily make two diverse lands out of this continent.
