Do you pack a Pharmacy when you go? lol

No matter how well you plan, tho, sometimes things come up. In May when the hubby and I went without the kids I misjudged how much Dove bar soap I'd need (I have very sensitive skin), I should have brought two bars. Also, hubby was less than halfway thru a 6 week course of very, very strong antibiotics while there and had some secondary problems from the meds. If you ever need anything over the counter or that can be bought in a basic drug store go to the front desk of your resort and they can get what you need for you. They have a local drugstore that they work with to take care of these needs. Basically, the order is called into Turner Drugstore and they will deliver it to the resort within a few hours. I think they charged the cost of the order to our room. What a lifesaver for us!
Same thing happened to us in August. My DH had a migraine, which we were prepared for, but he had a reaction to the meds and got a terrible skin condition. Yuck! Turner drugs gave us what they had, but I also had to take a cab to the Walgreens. I made up for the expense by loading up on water/soda/snacks while I was there! I give him credit, though; even in the terrible heat, he was in the parks every day, rash and all!

We pack plenty of over the counter stuff as well. My husband doesn't go anywhere without his Nyquil. Funny thing though, when we're at DisneyWorld I can't remember using any of it. Must be the magic of Disney.

It is a coincidence to see this thread. I took my daughter to the doctor today because she said her ears hurt. We leave in 8-days and want to be sure she is not sick. Complete clean bill of health. Our pediatrician said they have a pharmacy near WDW that they can call a prescription to and have it delivered. They also have a doctor that does on-site emergency visits.

I will be taking the common pharmacy: decongestant, expectorant, Tylenol, Motrin, Benadryl, etc.

I have been packing here and there and making our list. I do have some meds on it my son's asthma stuff and just some first aid supplies really but I didn't even think of advil or anything like that - thanks for the reminder. It doesn't hurt to have some on hand.

I never bring more than a basic first-aid kit, never needed anything more. My wife however has a small duffel for her medication, several different pain pills, blood thinners, something that suppose to help with her lupus, various creams and salves for the rashes. Last few years shes needed a Doctors OK in order to travel.

Never forget tylenol or motrin (adults & kids), Pepto Bismol or mylanta, Immodium (because of all that good Disney food we don't usually get at home), cold medications and antibiotic ointment as well as bandaids and gold bond powder.

First Aid

The First Aid stations in the parks are awasome for stocking all sorts of medications from upset stomach to personal meds. And unlike the merchandise locations in the parks you are not charged for this service. So other than meds that I leave in the hotel room we do bring that much medication with us into the parks. My wife and I really do not carry alot of items with us into the parks. I find it easier that way!

I don't bring anything into the parks except bandaids, asthma inhaler and my diabetes meds that I need to take before I eat.
