For our Sept. vacation we are thinking of going to the Rainforest Cafe for the kids. Do you need to make reservations for this restaurant or do you only need reservations for in the park table dining? Can you wing it any type of sit down restaurants anymore?

Yeah, you will need a reservation, especially if you plan on eating at the one in Disney Springs. We switched to the one at Animal Kingdom - it's less crowded, so you don't have as long a wait time to be seated for your reservation. There's an entrance before the turnstile, so you don't need to use a park ticket to get into the restaurant.

Yes, a reservation is a good idea. Also, if you join the Landry Select Club, you get priority seating. As far as I can tell, they prioritise your seating in order of:

Landry Select with a reservation
Landry Select without a reservation
Regular guest with a reservation
Walk-up guest

So, as a walk-up guest, any of the other three categories would jump ahead of you while you're waiting.

The Landry Select membership costs $25 to join, but you get $25 off your first visit, so it's technically free. It gets you:

Landry's Select Club

Your Ticket to Dining Rewards!

To make the most of your Landry's, Inc. dining experience, be sure to join the Landry's Select Club. Simply pay a one-time $25 enrollment fee, and receive instant benefits including a $25 reward to use on your next visit!

  • $25 Welcome Reward
  • $25 Birthday Reward
  • Priority Seating
  • $25 Reward for Every $250 You Spend

Yes make one and if they like dinosaurs try TRex at Disney Springs. Same idea just with dinosaurs.

This is what I was going to mention also. We've been Landry's members for a few years, and we have never had to wait longer than a few minutes for a table without a reservation. We've used it at T-Rex also, and at restaurants in our home town that are part of it.
