I need some help...When I was at WDW in 1988 you had to pay for a car racing thing. I can't remember the name of it.
My question is when you enter magic Kingdom is there anything in the park that you have to pay for, other then your tickets to get into the park? Please help me.

Inside the Magic Kingdom park, there is a Tomorrowland Speedway (7mph putt-putt cars). They are included in the price of admission.

Outside of the Magic Kingdom park, there is the Disney Motor Speedway, with the Richard Petty driving experience (either drive or ride in a stock car -- 200+ mph). You pay. A lot.

As for anything else in the park you have to pay for...
Once you're inside the gate of your respective park, pretty much everything is included (with the exception of food, souvenirs, and on-ride photos you may want to buy). The only exception I can think of is at Dinorama inside Animal Kingdom, where I believe you have to pay if you want to play those cheap carnival-type games.

In Magic Kingdom you pay for the shooting gallery in Frontierland, the Shrunken Neds boats in Adventureland and the video arcade by Space Mountain.

D'oh! I knew there was something, but couldn't think of it. Highly unusual, since I usually blow through a roll of quarters at the shootin' gallery. But the basic gist is, any major attractions are included in admission.

It's only 147 mph and to ride along it's only $99

Vader, when is your site gonna be up and running?

Not sure yet... Got to upload some more maps and things... Then factor in my laziness... 5 years. lol

But seriously, probably within a month. But I won't have ALL of my maps scanned it yet by then, or ever for that matter. I have 201 maps, but probably 100+ of them are just doubles.

I'm wondering what car racing thing you are thinking of. Was it inside MK?

It is a lot more to drive correct? like $800 or something?
No, more like $300 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway (should be the same since it's the Richard Petty Driving Experience. You go to class for an hour and then they put you all by yourself in the car and you follow another car for about 3 or 4 laps. My friend did it last year for his birthday.

Too true - one person's "Only" is another person's "HOW MUCH?"
When you consider the cost of fuel (the fuel for those cars is much more expensive than ours) and the fact that a set of four tires costs about $1200 and only last about 70 or so laps it really isn’t that mush. Add insurance and you can see why it is that much. I am assuming that they use the same equipment as NASCAR.

I was not making a statement that they overcharge (even if all know that happens at Disney), but the simple fact that whilst there are people who can throw $99 for a five minute attraction without batting an eyelid, to many of us $99 is a significant chunk of our holiday budget.

I was told that they don't run the same tires as the cars in a race. They are a lot harder and last longer. They are still expensive....

I just love how people read emotion into posts. I wasn't arguing with you. I simply quoted you so everybody knows why I made the comment.

By the way, why do I always have smilies inserted in my posts? I didn't put them there.

I saw no argument, and offered none - hence the wavey.

I've not idea about your appearing smileys - a colon and a "p" will give you the " :p "character, but what that and the greater than signs would be I have no idea
