Do you find people take your advice on Disney, or ask you but tend to ignore it?

Probably as much as 75% newbies do take my advice because they want to have a decent trip especially as the costs go up and they have had to save for it longer. The 25% who dont, well they come back saying we wish we had listened more or taken your advice because .... happened. Some have to learn by experiencing the negatives. After they saw my book shelves, seen my pics, heard my stories, why wouldnt you take my advice seriously ???? Oh you foolish ones.

If someone were to ask me for help, I would gladly offer it but most people I know either aren't interested in going to Disney (weirdos, right?) or they have been before and know the deal.

Honestly, a bigger pet peeve of mine is when a fellow Disney fan finds out I'm going and then tries to give me advice about things I already know...and I will repeatedly say "Yes I know, I've been there, I am aware of all of these things" but they keep talking at me without listening to what I am saying. Drives me a little nuts.

I wanted to strangle my best friend a couple of years ago after he took his family to WDW.
Along with his wife & 2 kids (10 & 12), her parents also came along, providing a perfect childsitting option for a couple "adult" nights.
He was really excited about that because while they were staying at All Star Sports, he wanted to get out and see these Deluxe resorts I was always talking about and have some cocktails and a great dinner with his wife.
The grandparents & kids would have a great time back at swimming and dining at the food court.
We went over their options and he decided on 2 nights of "getaway" dinners. I helped him make ADRs at Artist Point at the WL and Flying Fish at BW. He was very excited and so was I.
I was looking forward to hearing all about his family's 1st ever trip to WDW, but especially about his impressions of Boardwalk & Wilderness Lodge's grounds, bars and restaurants.

Well you can guess what happened....
His wife decided that they shouldn't "abandon" their kids at a place like Disney World and they spent both evenings having yet another meal at the End Zone food court with the whole family.

Nice job Buddy. Way to stand up.

I still kinda want to strangle him.
