I thought we weren't allowed to have political threads...

but to answer your question.. no. Not really. Worrying isn't good for you... so don't worry.

I was wondering, now with the 2nd anniversary of 9/11 just hours away, do you fear another attack will happen in the near future?

To answer the title of this thread... "Do you fear another attack?"

I do...kinda... just because I have worked (and still do) in prominent skyscrapers (talking top floors here) for most of my adult life (am I too paranoid?).

Will another attack happen... dunno.. thats Homeland Securties Job...

I love the people who fly the flag only a couple days out of the year. Thats not patriotism. If someone was truly showing patriotism, they would fly the flag 24/7.

I do not fear any new attacks on the US. An attack may happen again someday, but Americans are strong and we will always persevere. God Bless.

no...

Patriotism isn't shown by displaying an American Flag. Patriotism is shown by your actions and views, by standing up an defending your country, while at the same time, criticising it because it could be better. That's what patriotism is. So I'm sorry I'm not a patriot for not putting an american flag on my car... but the stars and stripes aren't worth my paint job. I'll show my patriotism in my actions and my beliefs.... not because I can afford to spen $2.50 on an american flag sticker.

I agree with Rob (as usual).

The flag is merely a sign of our country. Some fly it out of respect...others out of habit.

Do I fear another attack? Not sure if "fear" is the right word.

I think you're a fool if you don't think we'll ever be attacked again. This country being what it is, is bound to cause some trouble with other countries and religions around the world.

I don't "fear" an attack....but I do worry that defenseless citizens will die again for no reason. Just because attacks didn't happen last year, doesn't mean that something isn't in the works. We've been at the "yellow" terror alert since its inception. If everything was safe we'd be at green.

However, that said, I dont' live my life any differently. What 9/11 did for me was this.

1) Renewed my faith in my God.
2) Reassured me that living each day to its fullest is the right way to live.
3) Confirmed my darkest fears about the real potential of evil in the world.
4) Made me look up to my father a little bit more. As a firefighter, cop, and EMT, I look up to him in a different light. He was a firefighter all my life, but I don't think it really hit me until I talked to him that day....to hear him talk about those firemen in those buildings like they were his brothers in some way.
5) Made me RESPECT our armed services even more than I do. Those that hate the men and women that protect our freedom should be ashamed of yourselves.

Did you fly a flag on September 10, 2001. No? Well, neither did I. Anybody can go out and fly a flag, does not mean they are more patriotic that somebody who doesn't fly it.

actually I live in an apartment, so I can`t fly the flag, If I owned a house I would fly the flag. I don`t think flying a flag on your car window makes anyone any more patriotic, actually I think it looks kind of tacky.

Agreed....actually I have a bit more respect for a person who takes the time to put out a flag on special days. I think it means more to that person than the person who puts up a flag and lets it fly until it's torn and tattered.

Remember, it's in what it means when it's flying...not whether or not its there.

I am not american, but I watched the terrible events live and it still makes me tear when I see images from that day or think how worried and terrified I was for my friends there. I do fear for another attack, but I try not to think about it and pray that it never happens again. Not only for that, but also for world peace to finally be a reality some day soon.

Well Said, well said. I have all the respect and support in the world for our troops as well as anyone who will rush into a burning building.

What was that quote from Churchill? "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."
