I have AOL but don't use it to sign on. I have cable internet so I just use IE for my internet. My brothers and parents however always use it and they like it a lot. Even for members like me who don't use AOL to sign on but use www.aol.com to check their mail and everything, they've just changed that too. I really like it and can't complain one bit. They have a lot of ncie features and I think it's really worth the price you pay. But then again, that's just me.

AOL sucks...each version is buggier and buggier. Have you noticed how the CDs graduated from "10 free hours" to "30 free days" and now to "60 free days of broadband"? It's because they need customers...

I don't like AOL because you get all kinds of garbage installed on your computer with it, programs and junk that you would never normally want. I used to like it, back when chat rooms were really popular. I haven't had it in a long time, won't be going back.

Like "My first iternet" or something like that.

I have it, but I also have Adelphia cable internet so there's no need to use it (rest of the family does though). I used to be on it all the time (there was infact a time when I hated IE and Firefox :lookaroun ) but one day I started using IE and haven't given up since. I like using it and AIM much better.

But then there's the bonuses of having AOL....like being able to watch the Episode III trailer a day before anyone else....

I used to have AOL dial up as they were the only UK ISP that did not cap usage. I ditched them when I moved to an area with cable broadband.

Until recently my folks could not get broadband and so I put them on AOL - again as the competitiors capped the time online and charged about a buck a minute for tech supp. AOL's is included in the subscription.

Then AOL's support went downhill - the connection was unreliable and slow, whenever I phoned support I was put though to a disinterested operator in India who refused to aknowledge the network problem and just said "put more memory in the PC".

As soon as my folks local telephone exchange was upgraded to broadband I ditched AOL (whose broadband package at the time was extortionate, it has since become more competative).

I use a local ISP that is run by a 30-year-old man who lives in his parents' basement who tries to hit on me when I call. Or something like that.

AOL overcharges. I'd never pay more than $10 a month for 56k access. That said, cable and DSL are the way to go. If you're still using AOL for dial-up access, you need to switch to a cable or DSL provider. If you can't get anything else, find a cheaper provider. AOL's browser is buggy, and I highly advise you to use FireFox or IE. Or Safari for Mac users. :) AOL isn't worth anything. The content they provide for the extra fee isn't worth it either, as you can get much better content other ways, and if you have Comcast or Bright House for cable, or Verizon for DSL, you have lots of content already available to you. Verizon has MSN now too, which is much better than AOL if you really love the all-in-one thing. Personally, I hate it all-in-one. Anyway, that's my take on it. :)

I'm the same exact way as you. I love using IE so much now that I don't care to get on AOL anymore. And AIM is the way to go.

DIE InternetExplorer!

Use firefox...use safari...use opera...use ANYTHING but IE! It's a corruptible piece of software that doesn't work properly.

I've had AOL since before they went unlimited... For the past 4 years, I've had Road Runner, but still kept AOL... I have no real reason to keep it (aside from the chat rooms) but I just can't get myself to drop it.
