Do Water Park Visits Count as Days?

Hello,

I tried doing a search on this because I would imagine others would have the same question, but I must be doing it wrong as I can't find anything.

Anyway, here is my question:

If you buy a mulit-day ticket and get the park hopping and Water Park Plus options, does visiting a Water Park count as one of your days?

For instance, I know if you buy a 10 day ticket, it will expire (assuming you don't get the no expiration option) 14 days after your first use. Does this mean you can visit the parks for 10 days straight and then visit one of the water parks on the 11th and 12th day of your trip, thus giving your 12 or more days of various admissions?

I read that you get a certain number of "plus" admissions. How many come with the 10 day tickets?

The "plus" options do not count toward your days, unless you go to DQ or a water park and then go to a park on the same day. With the 10 day ticket, you get 6 plus options. This means you can go to TL, BB, DQ or WWS a total of 6 times. Also..... if you go to a water park in the morning and DQ in the evening, you have used 2 of your plus options.

Hope this helps.

Slightly different question:

If you get a 10-day ticket with 6 options for water parks, technically you could go to a water park for a full day, thus your ticket would expire before you could complete using it? [assuming it expires after 14 days]

My guess would be yes, that can happen. It would happen if you went to main park on the first day of your trip (because it expires 14 days after your first use) and then went to a a water park (or DQ) each of the next 6 days of your trip and didn't try to go into any of the 4 main parks on those days.

Then, according to what we've learned on this thread, on the 8th day of your trip, you go to one of the main parks again and that would count as ticket day 2 of your 10 day pass.

This could result in your 10 day pass expiring on your 10th vacation day, even though you only went into the main parks on days 1, 8, 9, & 10.

The way to avoid this would be to not go to the main parks on your first day. In this scenario, you could spend the first 6 days of your trip going to the Water Parks or DQ, and then your 10 day would start it's 14 day count down when you enter your first main park on day 7.

The only thing this hinges on is this: Does that 14 day countdown start with your first admission to any of the 4 main parks, or would that 14 day countdown start when you first use ANY park, including the Water Parks or DQ?

Wow!!! Never thought about the expiration date problem!!!! I bet (don't know for sure though) if you talked to someone in charge, they would honor the tickets or extend the expiration date if you are using your plus options in the middle like that. It just doesn't seem right for you to lose them before you get a chance to use them. We never have that problem because we have never spent an entire day at a water park or Disney Quest. We go to a park pretty much every day.

One thing that that should change is the expiration period; it should be longer for the 8, 9, or 10 day tickets. All tickets expire 14 days after the first day of use. I can understand that for the 4, 5, or even 6 day tickets, but they should give you more time on the longer passes. It only makes sense.

To the OP, thanks for asking this question! I was wondering the same thing and was very happy to see that someone else had asked about this. It can be a bit confusing.

I am planning a 13 day trip and will get a 10 day park hopper with the water park add on. So I guess I won't have any problem with using the water park option on any of the three free days that the park hopper ticket doesn't cover.

You could always pay for the no-expiration option and buy more days than you need. That way you can do things at your leisure.

It's like money in the bank, since you can rely on prices increasing.

Yeah,

I just got other confirmation that the 10 day hopper pass with the Water park fun and more option expires after the 14th day from first use. This much we already knew. However, all park days and Plus options expire as well, so it theoretically is possible to run out of days without using everything on your ticket even if you use something every day.
