...close for winter? I mean Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, because it must be too cold for swimming and what if the water freezes over.

They don't close for winter... Florida is close enough to the tropics that there isn't much worry of the water freezing over

Sure, the water is warm... But you still have to walk all the way to another slide in possible 30 degree weather :)

It could also be 80. Such is Florida

It won't be very crowded either, so that is a plus... They usually do freebie things to entice CMs to bring guests to the water parks in the winter months to help boost attendance...

Like what?

It's been two years since I worked there, but the usual deal is "free to CMs after like 2pm or something and 50%off for up to the number on their main gate pass accompanying them"

Normally CMs don't have free access to the water parks like they do the theme parks and have to pay a discounted rate for a ticket.

The best time they offered this was after 9/11. I took some friends for my first trip to Blizzard Beach and the three of us were among maybe 20 people in the park that day. It was awesome.

Nice to know Disney cut the prices after 9/11.

It must have been a nice experience for the kids who lost members of family to have somewhere to go and not as expensive for parents :)

You make it sound so honorable but it wasn't quite like that...Airlines were grounded for a few weeks, travelers were stranded, people had to cancel reservations. Disney comped rooms for the ones who were "stuck" at WDW and extended their ticket values so they could still go to the parks and have somewhere to sleep until they could get their travel arrangements redone.

To help boost attendance they offered deals to CMs and locals.

This will be our third trip to Disney in February and every year they always throw in "Free Waterparks and More." We've not been brave enough to take a dip in the water but a lot of people do.

Oh i thought it to cheer the poor kids up, and i thought it was honourable, at least they extended it for them though :-D

Well, what they did for the people who were at WDW was very nice for them, they were working with everyone, and the company did raise funds with CM donations and company funds to send support to victims of 9/11.
