Do the Resorts Keep Records?

My aunt, uncle and cousins are planning a trip to WDW for April and my aunt just called me to ask a question about something and I really don't know the answer but hope someone else does. Okay, so they all went down last April and stayed at CB. My one cousin will be 18 on March 28th, and apparently when a child is 18 or older, you have to pay extra for them in the room. My aunt wants to know if the resorts keep records, because when she makes her reservations she wants to say that my cousin is still 17, but if they keep records, they will know she isn't. (I know that what my aunt is doing is wrong and all, but there is no way that I can talk her out of it, so please don't condemn me for being the middle man!) Thanks!

It would be truly amazing if they could tell how old you are from their records!

They can't seem to tell you anything else about your previous stays!

:hammer: :hammer:

You'd think once you stayed at WDW the first time, you would have some sort of record in their computer so you wouldn't have to fill everything out all over again!

I just made a reservation for spring break on the passholders line and they had everyone's name and age that had ever gone with me to Disney under my "account". It doesn't matter if I call on the passholders line, vacation club or the disney line they pull up my info as soon as I give my phone #. They don't know when your birthday is only your age the last visit. Scarry isn't it!

Even if they do know they can not dispute you on this. It would be bad customer service. They just have to take your word for it.

Personally I think the policy of charing for more then 2 adults is dumb. One reason I like DVC, no charge no matter how many in your room (but you do need to stay with in the "limits".)

I don't think your aunt is doing anything wrong, she is paying for the room, it is your child. Age should not mater.

Some rules I have a problem with, then again since being pregnant and disgruntled I am getting more verbal about them. I was protesting the rules for Scrable the other day too.

The computers do have the ability to track the ages of guest. However to avoid this simply make your reservations for 2 adults and the when you get to the resort add the additional guest as juniors. They won't even bother asking the ages at check-in. I've never experienced any problems doing it this way.

Actually, they do keep track of your "stats" because they told my mother last time, "if the information is correct, your children should be 15 and 20"

If you aunt is worried about paying for an extra adult, just say that the younger sibling is bringing a friend, or that you are going with another relative.

I'm sure she could make up something.

The Resort cannot tell you who you are bringing and challenge you. For all they know you are bringing a younger neice and nephew. It doesn't always have to be your kids.

Sorry, I guess it came out wrong. They weren't challenging my mother, they were just reviewing all of our info, address, phone number, amount of people, ages, etc. They had some stuff already in the system, and they were just confirming it. It's not like my mom tried to get me in as a child, they were just trying to save some time by putting in what was already in the system.

DRC or whoever you call to book your reservation should ask you about your party mix. Adults (18+), Juniors (10-17), Children (3-9), and Infants (under 3).

Front Desk CM should start out by verifying your information such as check out date, party mix, and address and phone number after doing a couple other things.

I have never been charged for an extra adult when we have gone. we have a friend who is a firefighter in FL and usually will pop in for a few days. We do however stay at the deluxe resorts which to Disney standards can house up to 5 people. Maybe they are a little more lax because there is more room in the room? Good luck with it!

Strangely enough, they can keep a family history but cannot tell me which dates I was there last and which room I slept in??

So should she make up a name for my cousin? Like for example, my cousin's name is Jessica, but should my aunt say, when they ask for the names, that the name of the second junior is "Kristen" or something...?

The only problem with that would be the fact that they have AP's (I think...) and the AP would be in Jessica's name. Could this pose a problem? I doubt it but still wonder.

I dont know if DIsney would make a dispute out of letting your 17 year old pass for a junior, but I do think they would know.

We've gone every year in a row for 10 years, and they usually just automatically know the current age of the kids in our family.

You can try, but they might say something. Good luck.
