I don't think they will be a problem but I guess you could run into some over zealous security who will say they are.

Pack a box or two in your carry on and I am see what happens.

I'm not taking any checked baggage and I want some snacks for early breakfast. I usually take a small kettle and some oatmeal in my checked baggage, but that's out the question for this trip.

Granola or oatmeal bars might do though.

Not sure about the "gel" answer, but I do know that we wont be able to buy a GRAPE Pop-Tart this year!!!

Kellogg discontinued production of frosted GRAPE Pop-Tarts in May due to low customer demand, and there is no plan to make them again.
