DME Question

About the DME, how long does it usually take for you guys to get on the road once you land? Last time I remember waiting 20 minutes for a line, and at least an hour into the bus for it to move.

Will this be the case this time? I'd rather hang out in the terminal and leave when they're ready, but I just need times from other people and/or tips to minimize the time I'm in the bus waiting

Thanks!

I've usually waited no more than 10 minutes to board a bus, and no more than 15 minutes for it to get moving. I've had times where I've boarded with no wait and it's started moving with within 5 minutes.

I always seem to be one of those who has the best experiences with Magical Express, while a traveling companion, on the same trip as me as had the worst experiences. She had different flight times, but we were at the same resort.

Best time plane touches down to checked in was about an hour, worst about an hour 45. That includes taxiing, door open and making my way through the airport to DME.

It sounds like you had more the exception than the rule. I've read in a few places that buses at MCO aren't supposed to sit with people onboard longer than 15 minutes.

Was your incident perhaps toward the end of the night? There may have been operational issues with bus availability.

Of the 3 times I've taken DME, I haven't sat on the bus more than 10 minutes before it's hit the road.

Yes, it was around 9:30 (IIRC), and we waited an hour+, my entire family is positive of it (we remember how agonizing it was :p)

I've waited about 15 minutes for a bus before, but once the bus was loaded up we moved right away (so figure it was maybe 10 minutes for everyone to load their bags and get on the bus).

I think the longest we have ever waited...line for bus about 5 minutes and on the bus maybe 15 or 20 to get going. Like anything else its all about timing. Take the time to sit back and relax to get ready for the fun to come!! I know it much easier to say then to DO ...way to excited!!!

With talk about how long you may be on a DME bus I thought of a question/issue. Our two year old is potty training right now. Does the bus have a toilet? This will be our first time using DME, we usually rent a car.

MOST of the buses have toilets. If the bus says "Disney's Magical Express" or "Disney Cruise Line" on the side (in huge letters, can't miss it), then it's equipped with a lavatory. If the bus says "Mears" or is unmarked, it's probable it doesn't have one.

How many luggage tags do you receive when you choose to use the DME? If not enough can you request more?

1 per person

Yes you can request more, however, you can use DME without tags, just take a photo of your luggage and also keep the baggage claim tickets that your airline gives you, and DME will be able to retrieve the luggage. I mention this as you don't always have time to request and receive more, it depends.
