Found this picture of the train section being built as the Haunted Mansion's foundations are going in. The water tower is the Frontierland water tower. The foundations of the Mansion are between the two tunnels. The portrait hall way is underneath the train tracks.

Here is another construction picture. It's interesting they go to all the effort lower you about thirty feet just to hide the show building.

It's especially interesting because at that point, they still didn't know what the attraction was going to be. The house was built with stretching rooms and a passageway beneath the railroad tracks to...nowhere.

You think they would have built the show building at the same time but not fill it. That didn't happen until years later.
