DLR crowds

Very busy. You are hitting right in the middle of Spring Break. I will encounter large crowds during that time.

Dang. I wish public schools would just pick a date for the nation. It is really hard to tell that time for me because I live nowhere near florida.

How about the last week of April? Will the CA schools still be rolling through their spring break periods, or will it be about over? Based on the resort rates switching to Value on April 23, I hope the crowds will have thinned considerably.

I'll be at DL 22-27 April and I'm sooo excited. This will be my first trip back to DL in 30 years!

Thanks, RU! It looks like I've found a DL expert. Brace yourself for some brain picking over the next couple of months.

I'll be there from March 18th through the 25th and admit that I'm now a bit freaked about crowds. We have 5 day park hopper passes and I was planning on using them as follows:

Sunday March 19th - DCA
Monday March 20th - Disneyland
Thursday March 23rd - Disneyland
Friday March 24th - Disneyland
Saturday March 25th - DCA

Thus, my game plan was to avoide Disneyland on the weekends, going to DCA instead. However, I'm hearing that DCA was pretty crowded this past weekend. Anyone want to weigh in on my plan. We're staying at the Grand Californian so it would not be difficult to do the parks in the morning, avoid the afternoon crowd and return for evening.

I have only been to DL once (last September), so please take my advice with a grain of salt. In my experience, DCA's crowds tended to be concentrated on the "big" rides (Soarin', ToT, GRR, and the 2 coasters.) So if you get those out of the way early (before lunch at least) you should avoid the longest lines. You can always pick up a fastpass to use later in the afternoon if you want a second or third ride on one of the biggies. The smaller rides and shows tended to be less crowded than the big ones during the peak hours and things quieted down considerably by late afternoon-dinner hour (post Block Party Bash) as people went back to DL for the nighttime entertainment. I noticed that you are doing DL on a Friday. I noticed that it got very crowded in the late afternoon and evening as people began their weekends.
