Hi,

I'm trying to figure out the best way to get to DLP on the cheap. My 15th wedding Anniversary is this year and would love to surprise my wife and daughter with a trip to DLP. I'm looking to go in mid-September.

Any advice on hotels, discounts, airfare? Thanks in advance!

Hi, I'm happy to help, where are you travelling from?

Hotels depends on your dates, it might be worth looking at the official site for the Disney hotels (Santa Fe is cheapest on site (Davy Crockett is best if you're driving)) to see if you can also get a meal plan and park tickets included. Always worth pricing all the different options up. Should also note that aside from Davy Crockett all the Disney hotels are walking distance. Santa Fe is the furthest away at probably a 20-30 minute walk from the park gate, free shuttle buses run frequently if you have luggage.

Outside of official hotels I'd recommend checking out the Kyriad partner hotel (book through e.g. hotels.com) where you'll get breakfast included, its the cheapest/best option out of the partner hotels (trust me, I've tried them all). There's free shuttle buses between the hotels and parks. It can get very busy during peak times as they shuttle between all the partner hotels. Sometimes it's just a case of waiting around until the next one arrives.

If you want even cheaper hotel options look at the hotels in Val d'Europe. It's one stop away on the RER train (under 2 euros per person each way) and takes about 5 minutes. It's good to shop around for these options as the prices tend to change throughout the year as it's a competitive area.

Park tickets, depending on what dates and how long you go for it might be worth looking at annual passes. There are 4 levels with the cheapest being the Discovery. The cheaper the pass the more blockout dates and less discounts etc on food and merch.

Blockout dates can be found here
Pass benefits can be found here

If you want any more advice/details just ask :)

Hi @peep. I am looking for some help. Any assistance would be appreciated!

I am planning my first visit as well and we are debating getting a half-board pass.

The website says we can use the vouchers for the monetary value if you get a starter, main and dessert. Would you know what the monetary values of the vouchers are?

Let's say that I don't want to eat the "set menu", and I want to go get various items. In that case, could I use the monetary amount of my voucher to pay for part of my meal and pay the rest out-of-pocket?

Hi @PorterRedkey, unfortunately I don't have any experience with the Paris half board plan so I'm not too much help here.

I would guess that the monetary value of the vouchers is the same as their individual cost? Similar to what can be found on the official website. However I can ask around on the some Facebook pages if no one else is able to provide a more concrete answer here. @DlpHelp on Twitter might also be able to provide you with a quicker response.

The website also seems to indicate that you should be fine to use the vouchers monetary value and then pay any excess so I don't think that would be a problem.

I'd advise making restaurant reservations as I think the half-board ones are now getting quite popular due to package deals etc.

Yes you need restaurant reservations for restaurants like Chez Remy. Although in my expierence I still had to wait for about 30 minutes even with a reservation but that was maybe just my case.

@peep I thought I was asking too much, but your kindness in dealing with my request will not be forgotten.

We already have reservations at Jack's, Walt's, Yacht Club. Chez de Remy, and Restaurant Agrabah. Apparently, Walt's is off even the premium dining plan.

I think it basically comes down to breakfast. I know Newport has one of the best breakfast buffets but is it worth 19 euros or 23 American dollars. That would be an extra $200 for the two of us.

I am curious about your opinion.

I've heard that breakfast at Newport is really good but honestly we never ate breakfast in the hotels. We usually took a coffee and some croissant at Starbucks in Disney Village and then ate something small for lunch during day. Was enough for me cause I thought the price was also rather high for breakfast.
