The reason why the lagoon has not been drained is because the goverment has designated Disneyland Park as a "Safe Haven". In other words, in the event of natural disaster, nuclear war or attack,Disneyland Park can safely house and feed up to 82,000 persons for three days. The water in the lagoon is filtrated and can be used for drinking(with additional treatments) and other emergency uses!

Isn't that crazy!! Anyone know if this is the case for the sub. lagoon at WDW?

Well if it's on the internet, it must be true!

As with any Urban legend, there's probably a grain of truth.

I have no doubt that certain DL buildings were designated "bomb shelters" during the 50s and 60s. Heck, any public building with a sturdy basement was! You'd go by all sorts of buildings and see the radiation signs on them.

My aunt & uncle had one built in their basement; we had an area of our basement set aside with supplies, which I had to update every 6 months. As children, we also had to read the "manual" yearly in school, and held disaster drills. (Yeah, like putting our arms over our heads and getting under our desk was going to save us.)

So again, sounds like someone got ahold of an old disaster plan. However, those plans were abandoned at least a decade or two ago, so there's no reason that the lagoons can't be drained now.

LMAO! Did you read the site. It is a hodge-podge of myths, wishes, and urban legends. The only thing missing is a new museum to house Walt's head.

Star Tours 2 was to have opened last summer
CBJ was to be moved the DCA and made into a ride
Fantasmic down for 2 years with Tom's Island expanding and Rivers rerouted
Monsters Inc meets Buzz systen in DCA Hollywood
Lincoln moving to DCA with the impact of the Civil War on California
Armageddon being built at DCA starting 2/8/01

LOL, the site is quite funny to see how far off it actually is.
