DL around Thanksgiving

I'm planning a trip to California in November and I want to spend at least 3 days in DL (I've never been). I was thinking of maybe going the Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday before Thanksgiving. I would never dream of going to WDW at this time so I'm wondering how busy DL will be. Thanks in advance!

hey i hit up disneyland the saturday after thanksgiving. there were some long lines like splash and space mountain(at night is the only time i went) but it wasnt too bad. i got on like 14 rides (16 if you count repeats of space mountain and star tours) and it was nice. nice weather, busy, but not so much so. just get there early. you will be able to see and do alot if you get there when it opens til like noon, then lines will get a little busy. i didnt get to go to california adventure. i'm doing that in 3 weeks :). you'll be good because i hear its slower the weekend before. make sure you see 'iasw holiday' at night... gorgeous and almost overwhelming to see in person no matter how many times you see it in a pic beforehand. hope you have fun, but i dont see it being too busy when you go.

The days before Thanksgiving are the busiest of the week. There are few AP blockouts those days, and the locals flood the parks. With Cars Land, you can expect that to be even more severe in 2012.

On Thanksgiving Day through the Saturday following Thanksgiving, the crowds decrease quite a bit to what could just be considered "busy" instead of horribly overcrowded and tragic.

The Sunday after Thanskgiving the attendance shoots through the roof again because the AP's are mostly unblocked that day. Your current plan to visit Disneyland the days just before Thanksgiving has you aimed at the highest crowd levels. And again, with Cars Land opening this summer, you can expect those crowds to be even more intense this fall since most APs are blocked out for the summer.

You have to throw out all you know about crowds at WDW when considering a Disneyland visit. If you want to avoid crowds, you need to inspect the AP calendars at Disneyland.com and plan your visit for the days when the Deluxe APs are blocked out.
