Dissapointed in Disney Florst (No Epcot!)

I'm really bummed out after finding out what my other half tried to have done for me through the Disney World Florist and discovering that they can't do anything for Epcot.

As a sweet gesture, the idea was to get an Epcot or Epcot 25th themed custom arrangement sent my room at the Poly.

They can't do jack that's related to Epcot. They have nothing. The best they could offer was a cheese spreader with an Epcot handle strategically placed in a regular flower arrangement. A cheese spreader!

How is this possible? I don't mean to rant, but they're the Walt Disney World Florist - you'd think they could theme something to Epcot and have Epcot-related supplies.

How crappy and horrible is that? Yeah, they can give you a "custom" arrangement if you want Disney Princesses or Mickey Mouse, but not Epcot. They didn't even offer to take a bunch of carnations and spray paint them silver and arrange semi in the a semi-spherical shape.

I'm really disappointed and saddened by this :(

Well, from their perspective... they probably don't get many (any) people wanting an Epcot-themed something. That's kind of reserved for geeks like us.

It's really nice that your other half wanted to do that for you. It shows how well s/he knows you and it's just overall adorable. Aww!

We decided it's akin to a grocery store not having milk. Who else is supposed to have milk? And Epcot has the flower/garden festival - you'd think the WDW Florist would have a showing there.

Oh well, it's not a big deal but a dissapointment. Certainly not ruining my trip.

I thought the title meant that the thread wasn't going to be about Epcot... for a second I was like, "Why would merf care then?"

I guess if it's not that popular, we can't have everything Epcot. Although, I wouldn't oppose it.

You would think, with all of the gift shops at their disposal, that they would be able to come up with something to please a paying guest.

Call an outside florist, I guarantee you they would be able to come up with SOMETHING!

I bet they felt stupid not being able to offer anything.

I was baffled yesterday getting off SM and not being able to find a SM shirt but they had Hannah Montana.

About a year and a half ago, I had someone ask me to put together something Epcot themed for them. It took some thinking. I finally ended up doing a snacks around the world theme. I bought little snacks such as cookies, chocolates, etc. from each of the countries and arranged it in a basket using antenna toppers from each country. It turned out pretty cute. Sometimes, you just have to think outside the box. Of course, Florida no longer allows me to do food, but the Disney Florist certainly could have. Anyway, don't be afraid to suggest ideas to them. What's the worst that can happen?
