I still think this movie has potential if done right. But I don't have confidence that Disney will do anything other than a very bland film that is more or less an ad for the ride.
Why would you expect a bland film that’s more or less an ad for the ride? They weren’t all great, but I wouldn’t consider Mission to Mars, Pirates, Country Bears, Tomorrowland, Haunted Mansion(s), or Jungle Cruise to be ads for the rides.I still think this movie has potential if done right. Jungle Cruise and HM are very generic movies that seem to only exist because they are based on a well known attraction. At least the Pirates films can stand on their own.Why would you expect a bland film that’s more or less an ad for the ride? I mean, that's certainly an opinion. I don't see either of them as an ad for the parks rides. To me, they seem like good attempts (though not as successful) to create the next big adventure franchise. They tie-in to the rides on basic storyline and setting, and they to include a few Easter eggs, but I guess I don't see them as ads for the rides.Jungle Cruise and HM are very generic movies that seem to only exist because they are based on a well known attraction.
