I have to admit that im pretty current on everything Disney. I take pride with being "in the know" about upcoming films, attractions, shows, etc. For some reason I must have been in a time warp or black hole when this film came out few years back.

I was justing watching it couple days ago on TV and I loved it.I think it flopped at the box office from what I remember and was curious if anything came out of the film like merchandise and and characters at the parks.

I was in the process of moving out of state when movie came out so had noooo time for anything and was curious why I havent heard much fromthis film?

I'm not sure, but it may have came out at aroung the same time as a similar Dreamworks movie called Madagascar. I think the Wild came out last year, it was Disney Animation Studios, not Pixar. Like Dinosaur and Meet the Robinsons - which was great btw. They didn't hype it up, if I remember correctly it was like a quiet release.

This movie went absolutely no where. It was tagged with the Disney name because of deals made when a contract with Pixar didn't seem as if it would happen. The story was brought in from the outside and somewhat mirrored Madagascar. I think for some audiences it was more of a been-there, done-that kind of movie and they stayed away.

All of the animation was done by an animation studio in Canada called C.O.R.E.. You shouldn't mistake them for the guys who did Disneys Dinosaur...we are talking two totally different leagues here. C.O.R.E. was/is better known for doing television 3D animation for cartoons (though works that they have done totally escape me). This movie was their first attempt at doing a feature length film and unfortunately it didn't fare well.

If you happened to see equally as bad Vanguard or know anything about that film......it's kinda in the same boat.....story is written by someone (not in Disney), sold to someone and then animated by a company outside Disney in an effort to have these companies become the next possible Pixar replacement.
