Disney has dealt with bad press before and not reversed decisions though - see Rivers of America. Disney is only beholden to the mighty dollar.
Sure. And Kimmel’s show makes them lots of money. Insider reports from Puck state that Disney has been trying to get the show back on the air since before they pulled it.

It seems highly likely that Disney would never have pulled the show in the first place if they thought Kimmel was going to strike the right tone on Wednesday night as opposed to make things worse.

Rivers of America never reached 10 million searches on Google Trends like Jimmy Kimmel did.

Sinclair still saying they will not air it. Only about 39 stations though.
Sinclair playing with fire. Better not get burnt.

I won’t be surprised in Nexstar keeps pre-empting as well. Gotta keep the Tegna merger in mind…

In the Puck article it said Disney was considering downgrading Nexstar and Sinclair affiliates to digital subchannels and signing new affiliate agreements with other stations that would carry ABC programming instead.

But, we’ll see what ends up happening with Sinclair. What they say and what they do don’t always align.

Right. I know local news is cheap to throw up on the screen, but it’s not bringing in the big bucks. Losing ABC programming would hurt Sinclair “bigly”.
