Well... it's clear that D+ isn't a walled garden for children any more. Not that some of the shows on D+ haven't already broken some barriers into 'mature' content.

Disney's relying on the internal parental controls now in D+, and D+ will be a home for some R-rated material.

D+ is taking the unannounced stance that it's just like your cable box -- there will be family channels and adult fare all in one place. It's up to families to sort out who's watching what.

I guess Disney hasn't been getting any push back for some of the more mature material already on the service.

And this fulfills Chapek's latest take on Disney+ that it's going to aim at a more general audience.

I think this is a good thing, as long as parents are aware of which content is more mature. Disney + could use more adult content. It also helps that most of this content in particular is excellent.

There's a new sheriff in town.

Of course, they could have avoided the whole embarrassment over both of those if they announced they were being developed as Hulu Originals from the start.

But once they added Star to the overseas Disney+ and got no parental backlash...

Concerns about harming the "Disney Brand" with "more mature" content is now dead.

Who could have seen this coming.....

Oh that's right I did (and a couple others) 2 years ago and everyone shouted me down with "THE BRAND, THE BRAND, IT'll NEVER HAPPEN BECAUSE OF THE BRAND!".

The writing has been on the wall for this since D+ launched, people just didn't want to see it.

The next domino to fall will be Hulu merging and becoming a tile in D+ just like Star.

Uhhhh... wasn't that all about you saying D+ and Hulu will merge?

And it hasn't?

Anyway, I will admit that I was wrong about Disney keeping D+ 'pure.'

Not yet it hasn't, give it time. Remember D+ was just testing live streaming last month, again the writing is on the wall....

But I was the one saying 2 years ago that D+ will have adult content with parental controls.

It just debuted, so I don't think anyone knows yet if it'll get a 2nd season or not as Disney hasn't announced anything.

However if the viewing numbers are there I would expect Disney to green light a 2nd season.

You would think they'd add the updated parental controls at the very least one day *before* the new mature content...

I sort of expect at least the latter to be revived in the future as even Duff recently gave hope that its not completely dead. However How I Met Your Father is basically its spiritual successor starring Duff anyways as its along the same story lines of Lizzie as an adult.

So here is hoping HIMYF is a success so we get the Lizzie reboot down the line.

As for Love Victor, that is actually ending when Season 3 premieres in June. Maybe it'll get a successor show in the future on D+.
