If it makes you feel better, I have good news. I've found this: https://x.com/DSNYNewscast/status/1735107394504384886?s=20 According to this tweet or xeet, whatever, despite of Disney losing money from time to time, Disney has a less than 1% probability of bankruptcy. In other words, Disney going bankrupt is...........unlikely!

Disney is just another publicly traded company these days. The majority of their magic is focused on ROI, so whatever way the political and social winds blow, they will attempt to capture some of it in their sails to keep the ship moving. Its not about altruism, its about the bottom line.

No, my point is Disney does not give a crap and is all talk and no action. If THEY really thought a law was wrong (the law is irrelevant) they would have used their power and worked in the background to change it.

Instead, they talk up a narrative they think sounds inclusive and is fighting socal justice.

Talk costs nothing and Disney loves to talk.
Agreed; I got the impression that a lot of what we heard back then was to bolster CM morale a bit as much as to try and influence public opinion. Per Iger's proclamation, there's been a lot less cultural and social justice "noise" lately.

I don't understand how you think Disney has the power to change a law. Lol if they somehow had this tremendous power behind the scenes you think they have they would have never lost Reedy Creek.
They have the money to pay lobbyists that can influence lawmaking.

The loss of RCID was of their own doing. Florida AT ANY TIME in the over 50 years, could have dissolved RCID, instead of treating Florida as a partner like they did for 50 years prior, Disney angered the wrong governor and lost RCID.
