Welcome to Disney's Hours of Darkness! We'll be going land by land on the tour of this hard ticketed event.
Disney’s Hours of Darkness
13 and Up (Suggested)
Event Dates: Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays staring the Second Week July – End of August
Average Entrance Fee: $110

Hollywood Boulevard
Shroud of Darkness
The Gangsters of Hollywood Boulevard
As guests enter Disney’s Hollywood Studios they step back in time to the Roaring 20’s. Flappers dance around the streets, while gangsters patrol the street with their guns occasionally shooting some people (actors) , or drag racing through the street. With the gangsters on the patrol no one is safe.
Hours: 7:00 PM - 1:00 AM
Ride the Darkness
The Great Movie Ride
The Great Movie Ride will stay mostly the same except within three scenes. First off in the Alien scene the Xenomorphs will undergo an extensive refurbishment to be able to swing from the roof, and to pop out of the walls. They will also spit out water; this will be the only change for the ride outside event hours. The next scene change is within the Horror room. From the ceilings two spiders will drop down on unsuspecting guests at random intervals. Furthermore a skeleton animatronic is added in the corner of the room, which lunges out at guests also at random intervals. The final change is within the Fantasia room, here the screen will now be showing Night on Bald Mountain. Projections on the wall will envelop guests into the scene with flying spirits and dancing demons.

Fear the Scare! at Center Stage
Welcoming the guests to Disney’s Hours of Darkness, is a fearful soiree hosted by the Shadow Man himself, Dr. Facilier. Join him for some parlor tricks, as your souls become his, and the powers of the Shadow World are released into the park. Guests will be able to expect the show to last a chilling 10 minutes.
Showtime(s) : 7 PM
Facilier’s Voodoo Soiree at Center Stage
Guests are reinvited by the Shadow Man to partake in the welcoming of some of his dearest friends. Guests gather as they watch the Doctor and his assistants as they perform a musical show welcoming Cruella De Vil, Judge Frollo, and Sorcerer Jafar. Each of his friends will bring a song to be performed (Cruella De Vil, Hellfire, and You’re Only Second Rate). This all accumulates in a swinging rendition of Its Good to Be Bad. After the show the four villains leave the stage to mingle with guests.

Operating throughout the night is the Red Trolley Cafe. It will remain unchanged from day till night.

The Bootleg Cooler at Starring Rolls Cafe
Here the gangsters meet up, and have a couple of drinks. Guests can drink moonshine, wine, and beer here along with a choice collection of snacks like cupcakes, brownies, and cookies.

Fear the Darkness
The Greenhouse at the ABC Soundstage Theater
Professor Grene is a world renowned botanologist known for his studies of sentient plants. He invites all of you into his greenhouse, for a free tour on the verge of a brand new internship at Grene Labs. Unfortunately something has gone horribly wrong, as no one has come out of the building, and some believe the plants have developed a taste for human blood.
Hours 7:00 PM - 1:00 AM
*ABC Soundstage Theater will close in late May in preparation to be gutted to host this walk through attraction.

The Geonosian Invasion at Echo Lake
A veil of fog covers Echo Lake, as terror breaks out throughout the land. The infective parasite from the planet Geonosis has officially arrived, and it’s taking over the bodies of members of the rebellion, while Geonosian Zombies roam the land. Can you survive the invasion?
Ride the Darkness
Star Tours : Escape from Geonosis
Specially made for this event Escape from Geonosis will see C3P0 and R2D2 revisit the story arc that happened in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV Show. The ride starts off the same with a randomized beginning, followed by a message from a rebel leader, and then is followed by entering a hyper drive, and entering the Geonosian atmosphere. The ship is ambushed by Geonosian guards, and crash lands onto the surface destroying an ancient temple. The floor starts to crumble, and the vehicle enters the catacombs. The vehicle loses power, as a pair of mysterious eyes glow in the background. R2 begins to freak out, and gets ready to fight as the eyes disappear. Flying is heard above the vehicle, as R2’s screen goes static. A jump scare with a Geonosian zombie happens, as dozens of zombies appear. The vehicle regains power, and C3P0 begins to blast the zombies as they walk back, the vehicle flies through the catacomb destroying archways in the way. R2 eventually becomes visible once more as guests encounter the Geonosian queen. She bellows a might screech as thousands of geonosians awaken and go after the vehicle, R2 blasts the roof causing the chamber to cave and allowing for an escape. Guests fly away, and land in a rebel outpost. Mon Monthma is there congratulate guests, but in the background Geonosian parasite eggs are seen being loaded by a soldier who’s eyes match those of the zombie Geonosians.

* The ride experience will happen at Anaheim, Paris, and Tokyo during there Halloween celebration.

Oogie Boogie’s Freaky Funhouse at the Stunt Amphitheater
A unique offering from the former event Villians Unleashed! Returns in a new venue. Taking place in the Stunt Amphitheater adjacent to Backlot Express guests will be able to experience a freak show with Oogie Boogie himself. So come on down, and don’t be scared of the boogie man.

Hades’s “Kill”er Hour at the Hyperion Theater
A revamped version of the Disney Cruise Line show, this new show will use more adult jokes, and similar to the Genie in Aladdin Hades, Pain, and Panic will make jokes based on modern pop culture. The villains in the show with musical numbers will be :
- Hades (Welcome to the Underworld)
- Ursula (Poor Unfortunate Souls)
- Scar and Hyenas (Be Prepared)
- Yzma and Kronk (Yzmapoplis)
- Maleficent and the Evil Queen (Boo Off)
- The Queen of Hearts (Who’s Been Painting My Roses Red/Heads Will Roll)
- Gaston and Le Fou (Gaston)
- Captain Hook and Mr Smee (Wind Beneath My Wings)
- Pain, Panic, Ursula, Maleficent, Evil Queen, Captain Hook, Gaston, Hades (Finale).

Smuggler’s Hideout at The Backlot Express
The Backlot Express is quickly converted into a Star Wars theme in which guests dine in an establishment ran by the Hutts. The menu will carry over Star Wars themed food from Disneyland's Galactic Grill. Throughout the night Greedo, Boba Fett, Bossk, Dengar, Aurra Sing, and Cad Bane are just some of the aces you may see hoping to collect a bounty.
