Test Track always seems to be a mess with Fastpass. Last time the sign said 45 minutes standby. Then when we got in the building, they were letting full groups of fastpasses in and using the standby line to fill in space. It ended up taking two hours to get on.

well first of all disney's fastpass offers a minimal wait time and is unspecified. This means that you will wait for a less time than the standby line but it does not grant immediate access. With this particular incident with Test Track what most likely happened was the ride broke down at some point in the day. During a breakdown, if it is your time to return with your fastpass and the ride is not operating you are permitted to come back anytime during park operation and granted entrance through the fastpass lane. Unfortunately, this can cause a back up in the fastpass line and cause a longer wait time than expected in a fastpass line. Either way you still waited less than the standby so good times.

The problem with all the lines on Test Track including Fastpass is that TT is an extremely tecimally complex ride. About a year ago, a fold-up sign was put in-frount of the Standby line that said "At certain times Test Track may only be abloe to take as little as 6 guests every 5 min." I don't know if this sign is still there, but it seems like TT is almost to complex at this point in time. Yes, it's a great ride and i love it, but still, it is very complex leading to many periods of "tecnical difficulties" every day. it's just very complex and due to the popularity of the ride, they probally over distribute Fastpasses. A combination of these two things probally makes the FP line long. i am convinced that they distribute more FP's during high capicity periods than during low capicity periods.

hope this helps

After reading many threads about TT and how people complain about it all the time since apparently it breaks down a lot, my guess is that's what happened when you were there and saw the wait times. They were probably either fixing it or just started running it again therefore having more guests in line from the time it was down. Just my guess since I have never been there when it was broken down or having problems, I've just had the normal wait time.

The problem with Test Track is it has an EXTREMELY low ride capacity, approximately 40% of the capacity we will see on Everest! Those cars should have been SUVs! I would have liked to see 3 rows with 4 seats in each row (like the Indiana Jones Adventure/Dinosaur)

I remember waiting for such a long time for this ride to open. They kept changing the date of opening. The CM's back then so many years ago now, would say they won't open it up until they can get the guest flow working better. Whatever that meant. I see they still have the guest flow problem. We like the ride alot and go on it everytime we are there at least twice. We don't mind the fastpasses or the waiting in line. We've never had it breakdown on us, but it has closed due to weather a couple of times. Sometimes you have to decide if it's worth the wait for you. If not, bypass the ride and leave the line smaller for us...LOL....Just kidding.

thanx for the replys and keep em coming but does n e 1 know how they could fix this a little bit?
it is not fixable. They would have to change every vehicle to have more seats, which would cost a fortune and require a complete reworking of several areas of the attraction.

By the way, it's "Please stand clear of the doors. Por favor, mantenganse alejado de las puertas" and it's the monorail captain.

Flyersmv - change your sig man! We have been on you for 2 weeks about the improper Spanish and spelling. Your making Philly look bad!!

Because TT is always such a mess, I make sure I head over there to do that first thing (I haven't been since M:S opened) to avoid the "technical difficulties" and the back-ups that occur as a result.

it would be very hard to fix. this is an extremely complex ride. I love it, but it is still complex. To answer some questions:

FP's for Test Track on an Average Saturday are gone normally between noon and 1:00. on busy days even before that. When EPCOT is practically EMPTY FP's normally run out between 6 and 7, due to the fact may people think TT closes with the rest of FW. Btw: TT is AWSOME to ride during Illumations! If you've never seen Illumations, than by all means see it, it's an awsome show, but if you have seen it a few times, get in line for test Track a half hour before the show, if there is a line. You come out of the building a poof! Arond the bend and all you see is massive firework explosions and a dark park. It's awsome! Try it, if your licky enough to get good timing. just my 2 cents, for what it's worth.

Yes please change it already :brick:. They don't say "please tolerate the emptiness of the door" so please change that to what ISTC said!

By the way, I can't believe all these bad experiences with TT. Maybe like the first couple of times we had to wait forever to get on, to the point of just leaving the line. But in the last few years the FP's have worked well for us and when we've used standby we haven't waited more than 20-25 minutes. Oh well, we're just lucky I guess
