Disney's Disability card

My wife was recently diagnosed with a major bladder ailment which can apparently take months or longer to go away and antibiotics will not do anything to mask the frequent pain, discomfort and need to urinate. Of course this happens before our first trip to Disney World with ds5 and dd8. I have discussed with her the possible use of the Disability card when things flare up in order to have bathroom access during the long wait times. She is of course, extremely embarrassed to use it. My questions are simple.
Would this constitute a valid reason to obtain such a card? And, would a doctors note aid in retreaving a card?
I want her to experience the magic like everyone else. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you and Merry Christmas

A doctor's note will be of no use. You'll just have to go speak with Guest Services.

The current system works as a ride reservation system. You go to an attraction and receive a return time that is based on the current wait. You can hold one such reservation at a time but also are able to utilize FastPass and/or FastPass+ (depending on where you are staying). One advantage over FastPass is there is no return time on your reservation so you do not have to return right at the given time.

I would also recommend becoming familiar with ride times and lesser known bathrooms. Once you start a ride you are committed to finishing it and a few can be lengthy. Extreme examples would be Ellen's Energy Adventure at about 45 minutes long (the longest ride in the parks) and Kilimanjaro Safaris can be delayed based on animal activity (they sometimes like to sit in the road). I would venture to guess that if you speak to a Cast Member at a show you should be able to get an aisle seat so that your wife would be able to leave without too much disruption to other. If you search the forums you should find threads about "secret" bathrooms that are not as actively used so that you're wife can try to avoid waitin in a line at the bathroom. I also believe the First Aid stations in the parks feature a bathroom that she would be able to use.

I've been with recently potty trained children, and also while pregnant. Frequent bathroom stops (stopping between each attraction) plus a "pad" in case of small leaks (especially when I laughed or coughed) was the only solution. There are lots of people who have to deal with this permanently (my mother was one) and you just work around it.

With my wife being disabled I am now a master of the bathrooms. Here are some of our favorites.
MK- The back ones in Tomorrowland, Noodle Station, and the ones that connect Adventureland and Frontierland. And the one at the TTC (we hit that right before we go in and right when we are leaving.
EPCOT- The ones outside the the main gate near the Buses, Morocco, The new ones in America, Germany (but the companion door lock was broken last time).
HS- Ones between Star Tours and that Drew Carey thing that is never open. The ones by Toy Story.
AK-Not a favor park so I am no help there.

Hope this helps a little.
