I have my annual pass exchange card thing here and I was filling out the DDE sheet and it asks for the annual pass number. Has anyone else applied for it before getting the actual pass? Just wondering if it will still be all groovy or if you can't get the DDE until you get the ACTUAL annual pass. Just wondering. Thanks everyone.

I called them and quoted my exchange card number and had the DDE card waiting for me at Epcot no problem at all!

If you want to get the most out of the DDE, don't order your card by mail, order by phone a few days before your arrival date on the trip you plan to exchange your AP voucher. The DDE card is good until the end of the month a year after the month you purchase it. If your trip starts on 4 December, call on 1 December, they'll have a temporary card waiting for pick-up at Epcot GR the afternoon after you call, then your permanent card will expire at the end of December the following year.

And, since there is no bonus for renewing the DDE (as opposed to the AP) do not renew it when it expires. Renew it just before the trip when you need to use it next.

Exactly what we do. Ours expires at the end of this month, but I'll wait to reorder until December, enjoy it during our trip at the end of the year (minus the holidays of course) and have it for all of 2008. FWIW.
