Ive been doing some research on the disneys credit card. I think its pretty neat that you can earn points to put towards your next vacation, but the catch is how many points do you need to actually get somthing?

You can redeem them, which means you receive something resembling a credit/debit card that can be used at Disney Stores, the Disney Catalog and online Catalog, and theme parks and shops around the world, when you accumulate $20 in Reward Dollars. What you purchase with that is entirely up to you; it is not limited by price.

Ohh that sounds pretty cool! as a university student i was looking at it to use for text books (which most oh you know are not cheap!) and as a huge disney fan i was hoping that would be a good way to rack up some points and use towards future hotel/park tickets. When i reach a certain level will they send me like a gift card? Or when i book my next trip do they just take the points off then?

you get one reward point for every hundred dollars you spend per month on your card. when you are ready to go to wdw you order a rewards card and transfer all your rewards points onto it. the points are like $$. you can use them pretty much everywhere. 1 point = 1 dollar. i think that pretty much covers it.

Since you are a college student, if you pay part of your tuition - or all of it - by check, think about using your credit card and then sending that amount in cash immediately to your card. I try to do that with my son's tuition. You can rack up a nice reward point balance in just a few months. Make sure you pay it off though.

I know that one dollar is the equivalent of one point, but what is one point the equivalent of? How many points make up a dollar?
I think it is each $100 you spend on the card gets you a point. Then you spend each point as $1. For example, I just spent $535 on my card and got 5 points, which I assume translates to $5. But I am new to the card so i might be wrong ...

Yeah, I probably wouldn't spend enough to make it worth it, but the card is so cool!!!

Each point you earn is considered one dollar ($1). You spend those dollars just like any other dollar. They normally expire after awhile but, I think it is something like 3-4 years. I was told that if you purchase something that costs $150 or so, you get $2, if you spend $120, you get $1. In other words, they round it up or down.

You earn dollars whenever you use your card. You can pay your electric bill, your cable bill - your mortgage if they let you, and earn points. Just use the money you would normally use to pay the bills to pay your credit card.

Earning Disney Reward Dollars is a good thing. :)

Just make sure you pay off whatever you charge every month, the interest on that thing is very high ....
Try negotiating it down... I did. ;)

My rate is not that high... a little higher than my other rewards card. But, no matter the rate, pay it off and you never have to worry about.

You could use the card for every purchase that you make, just make sure you pay it off every month.

Besides the points from spending, there are also discounts available. I was looking at the info on the credit card the other day and discovered that we could save 20% by using the card when we purchase our Keys to the Kingdom tour.

I love my card. I use it to pay all my bills online and then immediately pay off the credit card.

Also, when I booked my Disney trip with the Disney Visa, they gave me 6 months of no interest on the trip. You can't beat that!

Plus, I got the opportunity to book the free dining plan 3 or 4 days (I think) before the plan was open to the public.

I love this card! I just wish you could get more points per dollar you spend with the card!:lol::lol:
