Disney's Club 33 film in the works

Sure youbneed to explain things within the context of your film. I just don't think it needs to be telegraphed beforehand. Like I said, good story takes care of needing to know the lore. Fallout didn't destroy everyone in the ratings because they gave people a backstory to the lore before it came out. The used great storytelling to make sure normies and the core fan were happy.
Destroy everyone in the ratings? That is a bit hyperbolic, but your point is taken. Fallout was good, but it was more enjoyable for many that knew the lore, and even then was also eviscerated by some hard core fans for not going far enough into the lore. Like I said its a balancing act.

Maybe. There's always been a contingent of people who ragged on Disney because, Evil corporation BAD. But it sure seemed to hit the general public when everything they announced was tied to those type of projects. I guess we'll see when Moana hits later on.
Well the first test will be Inside Out 2, but yeah Moana 2 will be another.

You're sure a tough one to get agreement on. I'm not sure what you consider destroy. But I'd say 2.25x higher than bluey, one of the most streamed things, and 3.25x greater than the next show and 4.25x greater than wish is destroy. That's as far from hyperbolic as you can get. Lol

Whoops, forgot about that one. But realistically they'll all be tests for the next year or so.

Consistency is what I consider "destroying". The issue we've found with these streaming shows is they are flash in the pan type of hits. They do good for a week or two and then fall off. And that is the nature of the streaming business, but its not consistent. Which is why I look at other metrics such as RT score and other audience gauges to tell if its really "killing it".

That is not to take anything away from Fallout, it has done extremely well and is getting a Season 2. But we'll have to see how Season 1 continues to do over the next couple weeks. And the other metrics like RT score and such have it high, but other shows are higher.

Whoops, forgot about that one. But realistically they'll all be tests for the next year or so.
I would also put Deadpool & Wolverine in that bunch too.

The movie spinoff that nobody asked for, nobody wants, and is guaranteed to lose money. What could go wrong?

I have multiple new movie ideas to pitch to drive synergy at the parks!

Disney's "The Magical Churro Stand"
Disney's "Sunny Eclipse: Rise to Fame"
Disney's "The Legend of MyGenie+ and Multi-Day Parkhoppers"
Disney's "In Search for the Piping Hot Liquid Cheese Dispenser"
Disney's "Push: The Talking Trash Can" (Okay, I would actually watch that)

So many great options!
give it a $200-250 million dollar budget, cast some disney usuals like tom hanks, etc. throw in some lin manuel miranda songs. what could possibly go wrong? right? right?

I like the premise of the film, minus any connection to Club 33. I don't why they would tie this in. It's a compelling enough idea for a film, but there's probably a better chance people have heard of Alien Encounter than Club 33.

That said, this has bomb written all over it, unfortunately. Unless they get some real star power.

Epcot: The park that never gets finished
Disney's Bathroom Stall #6..Oh the Crappy Stories
Disney's loose napkin from a Turkey Leg Stand
Disney's Gum and the forbidden blacktop

Really scraping the barrel now aren't they. Disney are completely out of fresh original ideas.
These movies don't feel like movies anymore. More and more they just feel like thinly veiled marketing efforts for something else the company wants to promote.

I eagerly await the upcoming "Mystery at The Disney's Polynesian Resort Island Tower®" if DVC sales look to be slow.

For Club 33, the story centers on Kim, a young aspiring detective living in present-day New York, who receives a mysterious invite to the highly secretive Club 33. In this case, it’s a magical and exclusive dining club that exists outside of time and space. The club’s members are the greatest and most iconic members from the past: geniuses, royalty and history-makers.
So this is really just a sales pitch meant to make the likes of Musk, and Bezos think they need to join.

So this isn't actually a movie about Club 33 at Disneyland. It's a weird murder-mystery thing set in New York City that has no real connection to Disneyland or the actual Club 33.

Why even bother with the Club 33 name? About 98% of the population won't know, or care what the club's name is tenuously connected to. Who approved this branding connection? And why?

Where are the club 33 locations in the four WDW parks? I had no clue…

They don't really have Club 33 at WDW. Kind of like this movie, they may try to call them Club 33 but it's not the same.

At WDW they have four lounges where they serve drinks and light snacks, but no restaurant, no dining room, no after-hours events in the park or WDI field trips up to Glendale, etc., etc.

The WDW locations are just sort of scaled down versions of the DCA outpost for Club 33 members, the 1901 Lounge.

We don't know that its set in NYC, just that the detective lives in NYC and receives an invite to Club 33. It could be a branch of Club 33 in NYC, or it could be set in Disneyland Club 33 (or the offshoots in WDW) and they fly the detective to the Club.

Not enough information yet to know the actual location or really the whole setup of the plot.

If it's set in the original Club 33, I hope they pay for her park admission too, and maybe Genie+ in case she wants to try out Tiana's Bayou Adventure.

I still wish they made a real one, but this would do for now :D
Actually the more I think about this it could be tied to the whole Society of Explorers and Adventurers universe they have been trying to setup for a few years now. Plus Ultra could be part of that and so I don't see why this couldn't be a spiritual successor to the TL movie.
