Correct. There was a massive downpour at 8pm. People headed firths exits.

Same traffic plan as NYE.

It makes sense if you deal 80-100k in guests.

To clarify, this wasn't an exit strategy to get the masses out of the park (which I've seen before, and which I grudgingly feel is more of a gray area). This was a defined viewing area. With (limited) seating. And vendors. And photo ops. And a DJ who afterward started a dance party, encouraging people to hang out backstage and do the Cha-Cha Slide and whatever other songs are approved for Club 626. By any modern definition of the word, this was an "attraction" backstage.

I agree & I also agree that if they're going to do that, at least spend some money & theme it.

I love the video, thank you. :)

In addition to the downpour, there was a new viewing area this year--backstage.

I walked ran through this backstage area during the 8pm downpour on Wednesday and took some quick pictures. There were some long benches set up, a few scattered chairs and a DJ was playing music from under a small party tent. It looked very sad, especially so because it was raining so hard.

We watched the MK fireworks on Wednesday from the Polynesian. We sat on the grass at Sunset Point and had a great view. I had been wondering if we would hear any of the music, and then the Electrical Water Pageant floats came by and stopped right in front of us. The fireworks audio was played through the sound system of the floats!

I also thought it was funny that a lot of rented pontoon boats parked themselves in front of where we were sitting. More came after I took this picture:
