It seems you will be going on KS later in the day, which will limit the # of animals you will see. It is known that earlier in the morning, while it is cooler, is better for more animals.

You also missed listing out finding your spot and watching the Best Parade in WDW.

Enjoy your trip.

We have found the KS really needs to be the first thing you do at AK especially if you are traveling in the summer. The animals will retreat into much cooler areas and be far less active the hotter it gets. The schedule that you have looks like it would be great for efficiency but poor on show for AK's signature attraction.

I will be happy to answer all things KSR! Correct answers, however, cost $1 :)

If your family wants to follow this plan then fine but i'm sorry this does not offer any form of tip to anyone else. You are purely listing some of the attractions in the order you might come across them walking around the park

You may want to purchase the 'Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World' book to offer your family some touring plan tips.

Wouldn't it make more sense to get the KS FP before you eat lunch?

This idiot has all his " frog family touring plans" screwed up. Anyone who has been to AK more than once knows that you need to go to KS first thing in the morning or late at night after the sun has gone down.

If this is how he chooses to tour the parks then so be it. I don't think we need to call him an idiot or deride him across multiple threads.

I would like to offer some effeciencies we have come across in our touring.

One of the things we have found works well is to be there when the park opens and hightail it to E:E via Africa and pick up a FP for Safaris along the way. We can usually get to E:E before the massive line starts and then we have our FP for Safaris ready for when we get done.

I think you're purposely making up touring plans with illogical choices in order to entertain yourself by provoking and irritating other WDWMagic members.

Better Touring Plan - (Park Hours: 9am - 7pm)

[Yet another plan to help Kermit out.]

-Arrive between 9:00am and 9:30am.

-Visit Expedition Everest
-Process to Kali River Rapids for a Fastpass.
-Visit Kilimanjaro Safaris (longer line in the morning, but more animals out)
-Visit the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail
-Take the Wildlife Express Train to Rafiki's Planet Watch and explore.
-Visit It's Tough to be a Bug
-Eat lunch at either Pizzafari OR Flame Tree BBQ.

-Visit Finding Nemo: The Musical (1pm-ish show time)
-Visit Kali River Rapids (Fastpass)
-Visit the Maharajah Jungle Trek
-Visit Flights of Wonder (3pm-ish show time)
-Grab a spot for 3:45pm Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade on Discovery Island.
-Visit the Festival of the Lion King (4:45-ish show time)
*[Meet any available characters in Camp Minnie Mickey until closer to show start]
-Visit Dinosaur!
-Visit Primeval Whirl
-Eat dinner at either Tusker House, Rainforest Cafe, or Restaurantosaurus as close to closing as possible.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Other Things to Consider:
-You can choose to skip these attractions unless you have more time:
*Triceratops Spin
*The Boneyard
-On a very busy day, you can also skip these attractions:
*Wildlife Express Train to Rafiki's Planet Watch (and all exhibits there)
*Primeval Whirl
*Flights of Wonder
-Good things to do during the rain:
*Finding Nemo: The Musical
*Festival of the Lion King
*Dinosaur!
*It's Tough to be a Bug
-Thunderstorms typically shut down most outdoor attractions at Animal Kingdom including Kali, Everest, Primeval Whirl, and the animal viewing trails. The only outdoor exception is Safari. It will still run during thunderstorms. If the day calls for rain, plan accordingly.
-During the winter season, take into account colder weather (makes Kali not as fun), shorter park hours, and earlier sunset resulting in Safari closing early.
-Fastpass is only necessary on Kali River Rapids. Dinosaur, Safari, and Everest can get busy from time to time and a Fastpass can be helpful.
-Animal Kingdom empties out very fast after the daily parade. If lines are long, save some attractions until later in the day near closing.
-Always plan your day around the daily showings of Finding Nemo: The Musical, Flights of Wonder, & The Festival of the Lion King. Also take the last safari tour and animal exhibit hours into consideration as well.
-Finally, don't rush your visit or try to complete this entire list. Relax and have fun. Animal Kingdom isn't a full day park if you rush or only visit the major attractions. Take time to explore the trails and watch the animals.

There you have it folks, not the best touring plan, but perhaps a better one to help Kermit out with all the complaints.

I've seen lots of animals when I ride the safari in the afternoon, and often see everything I am expecting to. Maybe this is because I am usually there in the winter?

I didn't see a problem with Kermit's plan (other than leaving out Pangani Trail, the parade, and It's Tough To Be a Bug). But I like how his plan goes sequentially by "land", and if his plan works for him, good for him!

Here's a plan I often use: (items marked with an asterisk * are subject to being skipped on short days with a 5 or 6 PM close). Ideally, this is based on an 8 PM close, during peak season, when I can really take my time and savor the animals without missing anything else. Of course, this is only a sample and I never follow a plan exactly to the "letter", but it's a good idea of how a full day at the park plays out for me:

Welcome Show/rope drop
Everest front seat
Everest back car
Everest front seat (up to 2 more rides if still walk-on)
Kali River Rapids* (skippable on short days or if I'm not in a mood to get soaked - which means I skip it a lot!)
(get Safari FP, and maybe a popcorn for the bird show while on the FP run!)
Flights Of Wonder (first show)
Maharajah Jungle Trek (the order of these last two may be flip-flopped depending on show times)
(get another Safari FP for possible re-ride)
Safari
Pangani Forest Trail
Safari encore (on long days)
Wildlife Express Train
Habitat Habit
Conservation Station
Affection Section
Habitat Habit (back to train)
Wildlife Express Train (back to Africa)
Festival Of the Lion King (may not go exactly here depending on show times)
Oasis Exhibits
Discovery Island Trails
Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade
It's Tough To Be A Bug!
Boneyard*
Triceratops Spin*
Primeval Whirl*
Finding Nemo: The Musical (last show or second to last; may not go exactly here depending on showtimes)
Cretaceous Trail/Sue
Dinosaur (2 times if there is time)
Encores on favorites such as Everest or It's Tough To Be A Bug, time permitting
After all queues are closed, savor Discovery Island music loop, the Tree of Life, and any wildlife still out in this area
Repeat same for Oasis (in other words, take my time leaving, especially if it is dark which provides a different perspective of the park)
Park hop to another open park (usually MK, but if they are having some kind of after-hours "hard ticket" event, Epcot. Although the Studios may tempt me in this case if there are two Fantasmics scheduled)

In addition to the items marked with an asterisk, the Lion King or Nemo shows may have to be skipped due to time constraints on really short days (5 PM close), although I by no means consider them skip-worthy. As a seasonal local, if I miss one, I just make sure I see it on my next visit. But my biggest priority here is spending time with the live animals, including the ones you can pet at Affection Section, which I could NEVER skip! :)

My other "main" plan mirrors this, other than Africa is first and Asia second, with the Safari leading off, and usually going at least twice.

Writing this out made me remember how much I really miss the Pocahontas and her Forest Friends show and training session!

Do you think that it would be feasible to enter early on an EMH day, hit the Safari first and then make the character breakfast without time being too much of an issue. I haven't been in 11 years and now I am going to take my 8 y/o son this summer and am just trying to get some ideas in mind.
