This is my family's 77th trip to WDW! keeping count since 1993(when we moved to FL from NY)!!!!
One of our first trips as a family was in Dec '93, and we keep coming back at least 4x per year! Now after 15 years of counting and keeping track of our total # of trips since '93, we reached 77!
Today is 11/23/09, the day before my long awaited stay at Bay Lake Tower. We have been owners at BoardWalk since '97. Now, since December '08, we own at Bay Lake Tower and have much anticipated its opening.
Tomorrow, We will be getting up around 9 and driving to WDW, which takes about 2.5 hours from our driveway, to the welcome arch. Everything is packed and ready to go and we have gotten all of our Thanksgiving dinner supplies ready.
We finished cooking one of our traditional courses for our dinner that we have each year and are bringing them along with us on the drive. We made Italian Wedding Soup which is one of our traditional appetizers for Thanksgiving Dinner. We bought our turkey yesterday to cook in the villa and all the things were going to need, even cold cuts from our local Italian deli to make our traditional antipasto.
On this trip there are my family of 4, my mother-in-law, and 2 of our friends who recently bought a resale at OKW . Another treat is that our DVC guide will be stopping by Thanksgiving to have dinner with us. I talked to him recently about adding more points and invited him to dinner. He said he would be more than glad to come. Also, one of our dear friend who is a waitress at Chef Mickeys, whom we've known for 15 years, will also be joining us! So it's a full house (or should I say villa) on Turkey day!
We will be in a One bedroom Magic Kingdom view for 5 nights, and have already requested a room of our choice.
Okay, so we recently revised our dinner ADR's.....again.
Here's what we've got:
11/24/09: Cape May Cafe
11/25/09: Chef Mickey's
11/26/09: Thanksgiving in the villa
11/27/09: Artist Point
11/28/09: Candlelight Processional 6:45, Les Chefs de France.
This is the first year in 9 nine years we will be missing MVMCP, since they dont offer it the week we are up there. We were going to drive up in Dec. for one night to go to MVMCP, but decided against it. We figured it'd be okay to miss this year because we'll still see the castle lit up, MK decor, etc, so it really didnt make a difference.
Next time I write I will have checked in and will be posting TONS of pictures of our room, the tower, pool, etc.
Cant wait!
See you tomorrow!
