Disneyland's 60th Birthday: Rumors, Speculation and News

I'm a fan of Erin - she's at least genuine and seems to actually give a dang, unlike her WDW counterparts, but I wouldn't want to be in her shoes this week. We had speculated that the event was going to be in Stage 17 in conjunction with the media event - I'm guessing whatever the media is exposed to the DPB meetuppers will get too.

Bummed I didn't make the cut to get in - I'd be super curious to be a fly on the wall on Thursday!

If Erin Glover is based in Anaheim, then I imagine she is pleasant and actually knows a thing or two about theme parks. It's the WDW based Parks Bloggers who seem so bland and charmless and tightly scripted and overly-corporate in their approach and material. A shame the Anaheim based bloggers are lumped in with those Florida folks, but I guess it comes with the territory.

I used to try and get invited to these Parks Blog events, a few years ago when I actually read the Parks Blog regularly. But I figured out how canned and corporate the Parks Blog was and drifted away.

If they do actually announce anything on Thursday, there will be photos and TR's and info up about it online almost immediately. So I'll just sit on my patio on Thursday afternoon and wait to see what happened. :D

Winter Dreams is returning (although the show will be very different this year) - the refurb will take place after the holidays are over (early 2015).
Guess your sources are more reliable than mine! lol. But this is pretty interesting. Do you think you could clue us in on how it would be different? The show could use a lot of reworking from last year.

I would disagree with you there - I thought Winter Dreams was perfect. The corporate mandate on the show is more Frozen - I would expect to see very little else in the show besides Frozen when it returns in November, which is a shame. I adored the new music and Heather Headley's performance, and while I love Frozen, I don't need it to carry the whole show. Will be interesting to see what happens.

I have no idea what is planned for the regular WOC show in 2015. Hopefully it ends up a bit shorter and without the Brave and extended POTC sequences.

If WOC got the exciting ending WD got, I would enjoy WOC a lot more.
But i have never seen either. Depending on what gets announced thursday, I might be planning a cali trip soon.

Someone on Micechat made a comment which caught my attention yesterday:

Re: 60 year Announcement scaled back
By lunchtime today this was the topic back at TDA. My buddies back there shared the scoop. I put this in the comment to the original Ed. Note, but it works here too...

There's nothing like a mild panic to make TDA hallways interesting. Word from TDA coffee corners is that the 4th Floor suites are now furious this rethink on Thursdays announcement got leaked on Miceage, and the Parks Blog people are scrambling on what to show their invited guests that day. Its a mess, but the messy panic may shake loose some additional artwork or less vague descriptions of the 60th plans on Thursay"

What did they think would happen? They told dozens of salaried managers resort-wide about the announcement plans and then changed it. Secrets aren't their strongsuit, ya know?
