Disneyland's 60th Birthday: Rumors, Speculation and News

Most of our info has come from Miceage Updates over the last six months, with lots of backup and extra info provided by @GiveMeTheMusic .

But the basic rundown from Miceage on what is coming for the 60th Anniversary starting in May is this, in no particular order...

• New night parade for Disneyland, based heavily on Hong Kong's new Paint The Night Parade
• New fireworks show for Disneyland, done by Steve Davison
• New World of Color show for DCA, done by Steve Davison
• Upgrades to the Fantasyland Dark Rides (new animatronics, HD mapping, effects, audio, etc.)
• Upgrades to Matterhorn Bobsleds (new Harold animatronics, lift and cavern effects, etc.)
• Christmas star returns to Matterhorn, along with Nostalgia campaign touting old favorites and forgotten 'stuff'
• Hatbox Ghost returns to Haunted Mansion
• Luigi's Flying Tires closed and rebuilt into Luigi's Festival of the Dance (dancing car ride)
• Soarin' upgraded to 4K projectors, Condor Flats rethemed to Grizzly Peak
• Innoventions lower level redone to Disneyland nostalgia exhibit
• Castle refurbed into sparkly diamond edition, diamond décor added throughout Resort

If memory serves the two things I've bolded are rumored for WDW as well. I recall one insider saying there's two HBG figures just waiting to be installed on both coasts. Also the recent rumor that the new Luigi ride will be cloned for DHS and rethemed to Buzz. If only there was more done when WDW turned 40 So jealous of you Californians.

oooooh I like those ideas. It's really getting the old stuff back. I'm really curious about the hatbox ghost rumor! Also the dark rides sounds very interesting, as does the Luigi flying tire re-do. Is Alice in Wonderland getting another refurb or was that it?

I'm more excited about the Hatbox Ghost than one person ever should be.

Last I heard the Golden Horseshoe Revue was planned as well, but it's been several months since I've heard about that - hopefully it's still on.

So everything is expected to be completed and up and running in May? Or some things later in the year like the attraction refurbs?

Everything will be done in May except for Luigi's, which wouldn't open until Christmas at the earliest.

To me, it seems like the English version of the HK parade.

It's the English version of HKDLs parade... Which doesn't even play at the park fully in English :-/ Shocking that this leaked.

That's what I've been told. Casting is done for the parade, rehearsals can start at any point in time.

You misunderstand me. When I said it doesn't exist, I meant it hasn't debuted, which is true.
