Disneyland Video Footage From 1956

Filmmaker Jeff Altman found this footage taken by his grandfather of Disneyland in 1956. This was one year after the park opened and in the video you can see his grandmother shaking hands with Walt Disney.

Technically it wasn't, it opened a few days (weeks?) after the rest of the park did.

It's funny how much 1956 Disneyland looks like ... an amusement park...!

Actually, it may just be the other way around... Today's regular amusement parks look like they're straight from 1956. lol
