The tickets have been purchased and the room is booked and paid for. However, I am not feeling the excitement for our trip. We are leaving from Dallas on June 5 and will leave California on June 10. Rather than try to get settled and go to the parks on that Sunday, we will wait till Monday morning. We will then have 4 full days to fully explore the parks.
I have been to WDW 3 times on full vacations and we spent 1 day at MK as a shore excursion on a DCL cruise.
My concerns:
1) I have not been inside an airplane since 2005. You had to take your shoes off then, but that was about it. Then I only had to really worry about myself, but this time we have a 5 year old and a 7 year old to get through the flight.
2) Getting to and from the airport to the hotel. Obviously its not that difficult or people wouldn't do it every day. Getting there is not as bad as the trip from the hotel to the airport. Not knowing how long it takes to be picked up and then how long it takes to get to the airport. I can get myself to the airport just fine, but depending on someone else is a concern,
3) Crowds. We are going the first week in June after school is finished here. That week looks heavy on the Grad Nite events. Are the parks going to be elbow to elbow all day long during that time? Will we get do anything at all for the 4 days we are there? I have memories of being 10 years old in 1985 in Florida trying to get out of the MK after the fireworks on the 4th of July. Being 10 in a sea of people is a bad feeling.
