Disneyland To Open Sept. 16th?

You guys are reading way too into this. The park would take almost a month to get ready if they announced it this week. 4 weeks at least. September 16th opening date is not happening. There is no news here.

That is assuming they didn't do any of the "prep" work back in June for the July 17th reopening. I'd assume they did, so could probably cut that by at least a week if not two. Ideally they'd only be left with only needing some food orders and recalling/training CMs which in my mind could be done in a week or two. So a Sept 16th reopening is certainly doable, whether it will actually happen is another question.

I doubt they did any prep work given how employees were wanting the parks to stay closed.

Correct, when they hold your deposit they get interest from their high yield bank accounts.
They've had my money for about 6 months now. I can atleast say the price has dropped each time i rebook and got an upgrade from Disneyland hotel to Grand Californian.

With reports of seeing CMs testing social distancing measures in M&Fs back in June I suspect they were doing prep. Now how much they actually did is unknown at this point. But at the very least they have a broad outline of what is needed, which will cut down a lot of time.

Anyways I'm not saying its going to happen. I'm just saying it still is doable. Now we get to Sept 1st and still no announcement then I'll agree with you 100%.

So, I’m not saying it’s going to open or not going to open; this is purely just speculating and pointing out unique changes. But I will say also that I have been to downtown Disney multiple times, and there has been a lot of activity behind the gates. There are plexiglass barriers up, Some marks on ground for spacing markers, workers going in and out of the parks, light testing of areas at night, and lots of executives in and out of the grand Californian. I don’t know the extent of work being done, but as an observer, every time, there has been worker activity. At the very least, I’m sure there is a game plan on how to continue implementing safety changes, and I’m not sure how long that will need. It’s calling back CM:, retraining CMs on safety procedures as well as a job they’ve been out of for half a year (!!) that may take a few weeks.

Happy to get at least minimal confirmation of the prep continuing even though no official reopening date is set. Its was what I expected was happening over the last month. Its very possible it could take two weeks to retrain CMs. And I expect a week for food orders during that time as well. So like I mentioned a Sept 16th reopen is certainly doable. We hit Sept 1st with no announcement then the 16th is probably not likely.

So just a waiting game now. Fingers crossed for good news next week.

No, they are now at a point where it would take about two weeks, although some food choices would be limited for a few weeks.

What is everyone’s favorite food that they are missing from the parks and would hope is included in that limited choice/ supply for the first few weeks? 😂 like I’ve said, I’m new to Disneyland, so I’m excited to hear what ya’ll have to say (and even more excited to try everything when I can!) I grew up on Dole Whips at WDW though and can’t wait to have one at the Tiki room! But also... the Plaza fried chicken.. 😋

I'm a simpleton. Give me a Mickey shaped Pretzel with cheese and a nice table along Main St. and I'm good for a few hours.

I want them from the wagon by Big Thunder. They taste better than any other McDonald's on Earth when you get them from the wagon inside Disneyland.
Is that still there? I remember those Golden Arches in the Magic Kingdom by Splash Mountain in WDW, but those aren’t there anymore :/
