I actually prefer the DL version of Splash. After the DL version the WDW version is so boring and tame. Even though the heights are the same, the drop at WDW does not feel as steep or as fast, and is nowhere near as exciting.
Valid point. The big final drop of both rides are the same height and angle, yet the Disneyland drop is much more thrilling.
That's because you are sitting lower in a much smaller, slimmer vehicle at Disneyland. It's like the difference between going 60 mph on the freeway in a big SUV with the windows rolled down versus going 60 mph on the same freeway in a small British roadster with the top down. The roadster is going to feel faster and scarier and more thrilling because you are closer to the ground and more exposed to the elements versus the taller and wider SUV with more bodywork around you.
Cadillac Escalade Log at WDW (Poor kid can't even see over the dashboard!)

British MG Roadster Log at Disneyland (I think that's the same kid in the front. He must have a Premiere Pass.)
