My husband and I are going to DLR Dec. 4-10. We haven't been there in 10 years, so I know things have changed. We have our list of "must eats" when we're in WDW, so we're looking for those "must eats" at DLR. Meals, snacks, desserts, beverages . . .
Thanks!

@cslafferty since I don't want to bump the other thread I'll just tell you what my favorites are here. :)
-Carnation Cafe Chicken:

This is by far my favorite meal I've had yet at Disneyland. I know it's sacrilege to prefer this chicken over the Plaza's, but I personally like it better! If you find yourself wanting a reasonably priced table service, I highly recommend Carnation Cafe.

-French Market French Dip Sandwich:

I've only had this once and it was a while ago, but I have fond memories of it. Very good dipping sauce.

-Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta Spaghetti:

This is one meal that I'm pretty sure flies under most people's radar, but I love it. It has a savory sauce and the actual meatballs themselves are delicious, with a little kick to them.

-Gibson Girl Firehouse Sundae:

Hard to go wrong with mint chocolate chip ice cream, hot fudge, and whipped cream!

-Cozy Cone Motel Red's Apple Freeze:

This is the same drink as LeFou's Brew in Florida's Magic Kingdom, and it tastes equally awesome on the west coast.

Thanks! This is more like what I was looking for. I read through the other thread, and it was more or less a review of places to eat - which is very helpful. But, I was looking for something more specific, like "Don't miss the Dole Whips," or "Gotta have the Red velvet cupcakes at . . . "

Try the Chicken sun-dried tomato pesto that is also at the Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta. Probably one of my favorite meals along with the fried chicken at Plaza Inn.

I also like the breadbowls at Harbor Galley in Disneyland and Pacific Warf Cafe in DCA.

My DH and I are very fond of the cajun meatloaf and the red beans and rice with andouille sausage at the French Market restaurant in NOS. The desserts rotate, but they generally have some kind of seasonal dessert that is always yummy! It is our go to first dinner whenever we visit DLR.

Disneyland:
Monte Cristo w/Pommes Frites at Cafe Orleans or Blue Bayou
Mickey Shaped Beignets at Cafe Orleans or the walk up window at the Mint Julep Bar
Oven Roasted Turkey or Jolly Holiday Combo (grilled cheese & tomato soup) at Jolly Holiday Bakery
Fried Chicken at the Plaza Inn
Carnation Cafe Chicken
Corn Dog at the Corn Dog Wagon, a must if you like Corn Dogs. They are giant and so tasty.
Red Chili Enchilada platter (with or without Carne) at Rancho del Zocalo. This was better than expected based on some peoples distaste for Rancho
Mickey Mouse Pancakes at River Bell Terrace (assuming they are still there...I think they are moving location?)
The world famous Dole Whip at the Tiki Juice Bar (Enchanted Tiki Room)

DCA:
Turkey Pesto Club at Pacific Wharf Cafe
Lots of good stuff at Wine Country Trattoria and Carthay Circle...but pricey
Chicken and Sun Dried Tomato Pasta at Boardwalk Pizza. In my top 2-3 favorite things to eat at the resort.
Anything at Ghiradelli
Beer, wine and other libations throughout DCA

DCA probably has the best selection and quality food IMO. These are just a few of my favorites.

I want to add that since you are going during the holiday season the Mexican food at Viva Navidad is excellent. It's in DCA back in the paradise gardens area next to Goofy's Sky School. Don't miss the show either.

The gumbo at Blue Bayou/Cafe Orleans (same recipe). I also love the Monte Cristo and pommes frites at Cafe Orleans. The caramel French toast at the Storyteller's breakfast buffet is incredibly good. In DCA I love the bread bowls at Pacific Warf, and the tamale breakfast at Flo's V8 Cafe in Carsland.

Dang it, now I'm hungry!

When I think of food at Disneyland my mind goes directly to two things: Monte Cristo with Pommes Frites at Cafe Orleans and Chile Verde conewich at Cozy Cone.

There's other great food to be had in DL, but those two are what I think of first.

Not to derail this... but on a recent trip to the MK I, for the first time, tried a Dole Whip/Vanilla swirl and now feel deprived that this does not exist within Disneyland. I'm not sure I can ever go back!

Dole whip pineapple float at DL or MK. Fried chicken at Plaza Inn in DL. Had it for first time on my trip in December 2015 and was moist, tender and very good flavor. Baked potato at the Troubadour Tavern in DL was pretty good.
Will list more later.
