My 12 DD will be traveling to Europe in June and will be making a day visit to DLP. For anyone who has been there, what attractions are a must see/experience for her? She has been to WDW 4 times and been on all there. We so jealous of her because we have to stay home. Thanks for your help!

Well, the only things that really stuck out in my memory are Space Mountain (it has a Jules Verne theme to it--very different, but very cool!) and the dragon beneath the Castle.
It's a great park, my memory just stinks unfortunately. :(

Other "must-sees" (I'm assuming she's only going to Disneyland Parc... there's a range of great attractions at WDSP):
-Phantom Manor- The French Haunted Mansion, with a decidedly less cheery theme.
-Big Thunder Mountain- Really a step-up from the American versions, this version is longer and set on its own island!
-Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril- Pretty modest theming and quite a rough ride, but it still packs the teens.

Pirates is also good in Paris, its simular to WDW but in reverse. The pirates start off alive and end up as skellingtons (sp?)
Legend of the lion king and Tarzan are both good shows.

If she is able to go to the Studios park (if she has a hopper) then Cinemagique is definately not to be missed.
Crush's coaster is also a great ride.

I personally love going on the tethered hot air balloon which is located in the Disney village just opposite the entrance the hotel new york and offers some beautiful views of the resort. Its very tempremental about the weather so is not aloways running. i can't remember the cost but it wasn't as expensive as i thought it was going to be.

She needs to spend the whole day at Disneyland Paris park. The Studios park is not as nice, and can be done in a half a day visit.

Space Mountain is really cool, Jules Verne style with a LSM launch rollercoaster with an inversion at the top of the hill. Very cool

Big Thunder Mountain is huge, by far the biggest of them all. The Train starts on the main land and then heads to the mountain on an island in the middle of a lake via a tunnel under the lake.

Phantom Manor is the best facade of all the Haunted Mansions, the ride uses the music from the movie (or vice versa) and is a different experience all around.

POTC is by far the best there is, I ride it half a dozen times everytime I go.

Storybook Ride is really neat, a lot of detail in the miniatures.

Small World is cool to see a USA addition.

The dragon under the castle is a neat side attraction.

Most importantly, pay close attention to the details spent in all the attractions and facades. What we don't realize is that Europeans are used to a rich history in architecture and art so Disney has to go above and beyond to theme all aspects of the designs. I am talking hinges on doors intricately detailed, leaded stained glass, very ornate wood carvings on buildings. You just have to look around and absorb it all.

Tell her to have fun and take lots of pictures.

She will have a great time!

My DD is 9 so isn't as in to the Thrill stuff as yours might be.

If she likes fast rides, Space mountain is VERY different to the WDW version. Think 360 rotations, fast corkscrew dips etc.

Indiana Jones is another fast one, Complete inversions and its outdoors, so some view!

The Tower of terror is just opened and nearly the same as wdw (great, but the same), as is Thunder Mountain, Rockin Rolercoaster, Star tours and all of Fantasyland.

Pirates is different and better in Paris than WDW, but thats just my, My DD, DW, etc's opinion. No Jack Sparrow on the ride (yet). Same with Haunted Mansion. (Phantom Mannor)

The Lion King show is worth a look, and the Tarzan show is a 'must do' if it is on.

My DD Likes Animagique, though Cinemagique might be better for an older kid.

If she has done WDW a few times, and is only in Paris for a day, then personally I would skip the 'same as' rides and do as many of the different or Paris only ones as she could.

Despite what everyone thinks, the parks in Paris aren't smaller than WDW there is only less of them. In one day you will struggle to do even a small portion of it all.

Remember that Paris is no where near as warm as WDW either. June will still be mild weather. Wrap up! (I sound like my mother).

Food is nearly the same. Caseys on the corner etc.

If she is only in the Disneyland Park ('Magic Kingdom') then She will need to Skip Tower of terror, Rockin, armageddon and cine/anemagique as they are all Studios Rides.

If she has a hopper pass, do both. Unlike WDW they are all at the same location, and about a 1 min walk from gate to gate.

Hope she enjoys.
Im jealous as well. Was planning to go back now, but funds dont allow this year, so best estimate is at least October now:cry:

If I can help further PM me
Cheers
Grant.

There are many great attractions as you know but my favourites are :

_Indiana Jones et le Temple du Péril : The ride is great. ( a bit short but cool.) That's my favourite once.

_Phantom Manor : You have a beautiful view of Big Thunder Mountain and this attraction is great.

_Big Thunder Mountain : That's a beautiful attraction (in an isle contrairly to the others Resort.) That's long too but there are many persons but you can take a Faspass if you want.

_The Tower of Terror : I think that you know. :animwink:.

_Space Mountain Mission 2 : That's very different as your Space Mountain.

_Pirates of the Caribbean : Great too.

There are others attractions like Crush's Coaster (I never do for moment but in two weeks normaly but like Big Thunder Mountain, there are many persons), It's a small World, Peter Pan's Flight.......

The Backlot studio tour in Walt Disney Studios is really good, and obviously Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Thunder Mountain and It's a small world! The Rainforest cafe is good, and i love going to the glass shop under the Sleeping Beauty Castle, because there is the most beautiful giant glass castle with colour changing lights that has been there I think since the park opened, but it has never sold because it is so expensive!

My must do's are:

Big Thunder Mountain - An incredible version that I can't get enough of
Castle - walk through / round it and under it (as long as she isn't scared of dragons!)
ToT - Not been on this one yet but it's bound to be good
The Maze in MK (I forget the name)
PotC - better than WDW in my opinion
Space Mountain - fast, furious and inverted
RnRC - The same as WDW but the effects are to a higher standard
Skull Island - a nice place to walk round. This is DLP's version of Tom Sawyers island
