Disneyland officially reopening April 30th

Literally what many of us predicted weeks ago and that by the summer, pretty much everything will be back to normal. So this is all great news! As I type this, the President just announced that everyone will be eligible to be vaccinated by April 19th. That's basically in two weeks. So things are just moving much faster now. It doesn't mean everyone WILL be vaccinated, but now all of us will have the chance in just a short time.

And it sounds like anyone, regardless where they are from, who wants to go to Disneyland will be able to by June as well.

I've suggested multiple times that we will get to a point where we have to open back up after people have had a chance to get the vaccine. After that, it's assume your own risk should you decide not to get vaccinated...whether that's going to Disneyland, a movie, concerts, sporting events or any other area where people will gather in mass. Folks will still get the covid, some will die but that will unfortunately be a consequence of personal choices (no different than folks that get the flu and pass away).

The latest aerial pictures show construction walls around the mountain and scaffolding on the mountain. I can't remember... last year before they shut down, was the work to fix the "mountain falling off" issue completed? Maybe they are still working on that?

The "mountain is falling off" issue is eternal.

Chapek COULD go up on stage and point out that none of the problematic stuff about Song of the South (the live action scenes) are actually included in Splash Mountain

That was never the only point though. There is no possible way to distance the ride from the cultural appropriation that begat the characters and music in the first place.

Could I get a bit more information about D'Amaro?

He's the President of Parks and Resorts.

Personally, hearing everything is going “back to normal” on June 15th except for the mask mandate is like saying we re ordering pizza without cheese and sauce.
I'd say it's closer to "we have cheese and sauce, but the *exact* cheese and sauce you want is currently unavailable and we're not sure when our supply chain will allow us to serve it again. Perhaps you'd like to try the slightly different ______ cheese and sauce instead until your cheese and sauce is back in stock. Also, you MUST order a pizza with pepperoni, and you cannot remove the pepperoni except in three very specific circumstances. No exceptions."
