Hey everyone! Heading to Disneyland in 3 weeks and have no idea how it works. I'm a pro when it comes to wdw, but completely lost with DL lol

1. Do they have fastpass?
2. How important/hard is it to get restaurant reservations? Is it as brutal as WDW?
3. Do they sell discounted park tickets anywhere?
4. Any tips you can give would be great!!

The best thing is to point you to this thread. It will help out a lot.

To answer your questions:

  1. Yes. The old style paper FP

  2. Not nearly as hard. Often you can get them the same day or do not need them at all. To be safe call a couple days in advance if you really want to get in a place at a certain time. Blue Bayou, Carthay Circle and Napa Rose are ones you want to get a reservation for. Again a couple days in advance is usually enough.

  3. I know AAA has discounted tickets. I’m not sure if anyone else does.

Some more on question 3, you can get discounted tickets from Orbitz, Cheaptickets, way.com and Getaway.com. I know people who have bought tickets from all of these places without any problems (I have used Cheaptickets and Getawatoday) and they typically have a bigger discount than AAA. You should check all of the options based on how many days you want, some places have better prices based on the type of ticket you want (i.e. way.com may have a better price for 5 day hoppers, while Cheaptickets may have a better price for 4 days). Also keep in mind that unlike WDW, the most days you can get on one ticket is 5.

ok great, I'll check out all those options! We're only spending 2 days at DL/CA, Universal for 1, then just sightseeing for 2.
