My girlfriends and I are planning a trip to Disneyland/So Cal in May 2013. I need all the help I can get!

1 - how many days is 'enough' to see/do everything at DL & CA? We were thinking a week total in Cali.

2 - I want to see Cirque Du Soleil "Iris" while I'm there - is their transportation available to the Kodak theatre?

3 - We want to do Universal - I noticed you can book tours through Disneyland.com now - is it more expensive to do it this way?

4 - Knotts Berry Farm - worth it?

5 - the DDP for Disneyland - worth it?

6 - Any recommendations for decent/cheap "Good Neighbor" hotels?

I haven't even been to DL yet but I've been doing a lot of reading. :p

The DL dining plan isn't anything like WDW's. It's essentially a pre-paid voucher type thing. There's no savings in it. If prepaying is something that appeals then that's cool. But if you go to a meal and your food costs more than what's on your voucher then you still have to pay the difference. I'd say save your dining $$ on a gift card then use that so you only spend what you eat, not more (ie. vouchers are for $15 but you only eat $13 worth losing $2).

A good neighbor hotel I hear a lot about is the Hojo. Not sure off the top of my head if it's one that's directly across the street from the entrance. I think it has a lot to do with their amenities. Like there's a water play area for the kiddies which obviously appeals more to families. Personally, if I was staying off-site I'd go for one of the places that's riiiiight there adjacent to the entrance vs. others that I have to walk further down the block to just because of the thought of walking around off-property at night. Ya know?

Exciting stuff! :sohappy: Keep me posted on what y'all are doing. We're planning to go this November and planning has been quite the learning experience for me. :D

Get with Tammy (disneyfalcon). She's veeery experienced with DL. Did you know she writes a blog over at Touringplans.com??? Goooood stuff. I think any Disney-specific TA will do DL stuff as well. Disney is their thing.

Thanks lady! I will def. use KK if we decide on DL in 2013
