I don't believe the monorail at DL goes through any of the hotels. I didn't stay on property during my visit, but we used the monoraiol anyways and I think it just goes to Tomorrowland and to Downtown Disney. The Downtown Disney stop is very close to the Disneyland Hotel so that would be a perk... hope this helps!

Does the Monorail in DL run through or connect to any of the hotels?
No.

There is a stop midway between the Grand Californian Hotel and the original Disneyland Hotel. It isn't a very long walk from the station to either hotel, so works well if you are staying elsewhere, and have a character meal at one of the Disney hotels.

Well, "goes through" in the sense that it goes through the resort property, like the WDW monorail going through the GF or the Poly, but not like when it "goes through" the actual main building of the Contemporary resort.

dflye - great clarification. That describes it perfectly.

And maybe one other bit to help. As pointed out, it stops close. Think of the walk from the TTC to the Polynesian. The monorail station at DLR is between GC and DLH - both are a very short walk.

Thanks for the map. I can pick out everything except Downtown Disney - can someone point me in the general direction? All of the green roofs (right of the road) are the Grand Californian Resort, right?

The green roofs are not all Grand Cal - some are DtD. If you look just right of dead center of the picture you will see a building with red and white checker pattern along the edge - that is Soarin'

The green roof next to it starts DtD (The World of Disney store.) DtD continues going to the left across the picture and slightly angles up, towards a circle with buildings that have brownish roofs. That whole line is DtD.

After you pass that circle the path continues left and down slightly, crosses over the road - and just as you pass the road there is a long thin green roof structure - that is the monorail station.

I hope this helps!

RU ~ Thanks for the bearings. The swimming pool with the green roofs had me fooled, now that I think about it, the Grand Calif couldn't be that big! Thanks for pointing a few things out to me. I have a lot to learn when it comes to DL, and I'm looking forward to visiting in late April.

My pleasure to help. If you have any questions feel free to ask away!

Side note in case I confused things - I pointed out a green roof that is the World of Disney. There is one next to it running in a parallel line. That one is also some DtD shops. However all the rest of the green tops, including the ones around the pool are Grand Californian.
