First guests have checked in! New carpet and ephemera! Looks great, really.

There is also a new security gate under the Sorcerer’s hat. Has a cute monorail decal on it. Looks fitting.

The mary Blair looking floor inlay looks fantastic, its a shame they won’t put something like this at the contemporary resort

unsure of the intended use, but I did read they have hotel room key scanners. I’m guessing perhaps after hours it’s locked. Extra layer of security sounds fine.

If they go the same route as GCH, you will need to be a guest of the hotel (with keycard or dining reservation) in order to have access to the grounds.

I believe the GCH has been open grounds since the lifted Covid restrictions! At least the few vlogs I saw. It’s a wander-free-for-all I believe.

Steakhouse 55 will not reopen. It was confirmed to be shut down for unknown reasons. Or at least media says.

Yep, posted over here a couple days ago. PCH Grill at Paradise Pier will not reopen either. This isn't just a media thing, this has been confirmed by Disney.

I wasn’t aware of that thread! Lol
So that the second restaurant not to reopen? I kept wondering which other restaurant.

So happy to have made it back to Trader Sam’s / Tangaroa Terrace Saturday. Got there around noon, opted to wait of a bar top seat at Tangaroa as the indoor Sam’s bar does not open until 4pm for now (I expect that to change soon). Had a nice cat with a few of the long time skippers who are very happy to be back. Drinks were fantastic as always. For those like me that collect the Sam's mugs, nothing new but all mugs in stock, including the Zombie head that some folks were concerned might go away given Disney's recent purge of shrunken heads. There will apparently be a new Jungle Cruise themed mug coming out toward the end of the month to coincide with the movie release. Great to have the bar back.
