Disneyland Half

First, I hope this post is OK being here on the main Running at WDW board, and not under the Disneyland Half pushpin at the top. If not, please move it and I apologize for putting it here.

I've decided to go for the Coast to Coast medal and run the half at Disneyland. I know that the race is sold out so I have to go through one of the travel companies. That being said, I have to book a hotel stay through them but I've never been to Disneyland or Anaheim before. I was wondering if anyone has been there and could recommend an offsite hotel? I'm not sure what the board rules are in regards to this but I don't want to post a link to the travel company with the hotel choices as I'm not sure if it's allowed. I would love to stay at a Disney hotel on property, but the pricing is double and triple the amount of some of the other hotels and with me having a flight, rental car, food, and Disney tickets on top of all of this I just can't justify spending an additional $200-$500 for the trip on a Disney hotel.

So if there's anyone that's been there before I would love any recommendations. Thanks for your help.

Would still be expensive compared to offsite, but Disney does have a discount for runners. Check the rundisney web site or your registration e-mail.

A lot of major hotel chains are represented, so if you are familiar with one, you will probably be ok. Ones I can think of that are pretty nice are the Hilton, Embassy Suites, maybe a Holiday Inn Express and I want to say Hampton Inn.

I did the Disneyland !/2 Marathon last Sept (COAST to COAST Challenge--YES!!!). My family and I stayed at the Sheraton Park Hotel. It was a nice hotel and within a 10 minute walk to the Parks and Downtown Disney.
We could even se World of Color and the Fireworks from our room.
I got a GREAT deal by booking airfare & room together. I would have loved to stay at one of the Disney resort but we saved so much $$$ by staying off property.

Send me a message if you want more details.
